August in Review

The Royals continue winning at their same pace they've been going all season. They had another similar month in August to the rest of the months this season. They went 17-10 in August and officially got a winning record in the month, also far surpassing it. They are now 92-42 still with an entire month left to play. They also have a magic number of 11 going down the final stretch. Nick Johnson now has 33 homers and 125 RBI as one of the best hitters in baseball this season. Mark Teahen is also doing well coming close to 100 RBI himself now at 91. As far as pitching, four of the Royals starters have ERAs under three. Oddly, Kyle Davies with the highest ERA of the starters at 3.39 is leading the team in wins at 15, but the other four are still very close. With September coming up, the Royals will be able to make some call-ups to get a taste of the big leagues. It will be interesting to see who can transition the easiest from the minors to the majors.

September Call-Ups

The Royals have decided who they want to call-up going into the final month of the season. For pitchers, the Royals have called up righties Ramon Ramirez, Luke Hudson, and Ryan Braun. Slider specialist Jesse Carlson is the only lefty call-up. Matt Tupman, Ryan Shealy, Tony Pena, and Angel Sanchez are the infield call-ups while Justin Ruggiano is the lone outfielder call-up. Let's hope they can do some great things here in the short amount of time they have to play in the majors in 2012.

Royals Take Third Consecutive Division Crown

Following the win yesterday (September 9th) against the Twins, the Royals have officially won the American League Central division for the third consecutive season. This is the earliest the Royals have won the division in the past three years now with their record of 98-44. Despite it being a road game, there was plenty of celebration both at the Metrodome in Minneapolis and back home in Kansas City as the Royals hope to repeat as world champions.

Congrats on the crown. How many wins are you gonna get? I predict 112 wins, and 60 losses for your final record.
