With a clean win over the Houston Astros, the New Orleans Hornets have become the first team to ever clinch a playoff spot and win their division in their inaugural season. Mike Pelfrey was the winning pitcher, throwing 6 innings of shutout ball as the Hornets cruised to an easy win due to a massive 3rd inning, largely led by a 3 run homerun by Chris Snyder, his 22nd of the year. We asked manager Clyde McFloyd if he was just going to lay back as they already clinched their playoff spot.

"No way, José. Hey! Suarez! Get over here! Suarez's first name is José. Anyways no, we're probably going to go for 100 wins and then sit back as I rake in all the cash. Oh and I guess I have to negotiate contracts later in the year, oh well. Everyone will want to come to our team though! Am I right or am I right?"

1st in NL Central
Won series 2-1

The Hornets have won their 100th game of the season with another blowout against the St. Louis Cardinals, Spark, the team leader in homeruns blasted another one out of the park with his 27th of the year, Conor Jackson also hit one but in a less conventional way as we show you below. Sandberg pitched this game, going 7 innings giving up only 1 earned run as Spark bobbled a routine fly ball to allow one run in, and McMillon threw one at home but was way overboard and threw it over Snyders head. McMillon however redeemed himself by throwing the only assist in Hornet history o far by gunning down Yadier Molina as he headed for third.

The New Orleans hornets suffered a heartbreaking loss. The club was up 9-8 in the top of the ninth, but RP McConnell gave up a tying homerun to future hall of famer Ken Griffey Junior to tie the game up at 9 a piece. Neagle then came in and gave up 2 singles before allowing another single to Ryan Freely, this time to win the game.

The Hornets win in an astounding game by Sandberg, which could quite easily be the greatest pitching performance by a rookie in MLB history. He gave up a solo run in the first but settled down after that, striking out a grand total of 21 batters on route to his 9th win of the season. He also pitched all 9 innings as you'd expect and got a complete game, the offense was doing fine except they scored in bunches, and every inning like we see so often. With the 21 strikeouts, he broke the MLB record for most strikeouts in a 9 inning game by one pitcher. Truly an outstanding performance.

The Hornets won this game but a very unfortunate thing occurred in the bottom of the ninth. McConnell, who usually pitches relief was chosen to spot-start this game, he pitched 4 and a third solid innings but suffered an injury to end his outing, as a result, reliever Neagle came in and pitched the rest of the game. At one point striking out 6 in a row, he finished with 10 strikeouts while giving up no runs and only 2 hits. The offense did relatively well too. Left fielder spark hit the only homerun of the game with a 2 RBI smack to centre.

Won series 4-0

We have a series vs. Houston that's 2 games but I'll just simulate it and end the season.

A very exciting game 1 in a win for the New Orleans Hornets! The squad sent Sandberg out to start the first post season game in Hornets history and pitched relatively well only surrendering 4 runs in 6 innings but left with a no-decision as the game was tied when he exited the ball game. The offense was actually doing quite bad in this game, usual stars S. Drew and Joey Votto both went 0-4 and didn't contribute anything. That didn't seem to matter however, but in the ninth, with the game tied, the Rockies scored a single run on a Brad Hawpe bases loaded bloop. In the next inning however, Dawley and Mark Ellis singled and then double to put runners on 2nd and 3rd, McMillon then did his thing and drove in both to win the game for them in regulation.

Another very exciting game in which there was a walkoff hit! First, lets go to the start of the game. Dan Haren started this game but ended up with a no-decision as he allowed 3 runs in his last inning to finish off his day. Stephen Drew and Spark Jackson were both given the day off as they were feeling very purple they said. Both made an appearance however, in the bottom of the ninth, with the game tied 4 apiece. Spark pinch hit for Medrano and double to the centre field wall. Drew then pinch ran for him. Conor Jackson was at the plate and pushed a bunt right by the pitcher as Stephen Drew was stealing third. The ball went right by all the fielders as they were using an infield back shift. Conor was safe and Drew made it home to win the game for New Orleans.

The Hornets lost their first post season game in franchise history, as an offense that is usually very vibrant, was bland today. The squad only combined for 3 hits as they were absolutely blanked. The bright spot is that they took the Rockies on a bland trip through 12 innings, though finally giving up a 2 run homerun on a Fiore mistake pitch to allstar Todd Helton, the Hornets are now only up 2-1 in the series as they have chances to close the series out in the next two games, after taking a 2-0 lead, two days ago. On a related note, Hirsh had a 1991 Jack Morris moment as he went 10 innings only giving up a combined 3 hits.

The Hornets win! They make it to the long awaited NLCS! ~ Jack Merluzzi

Hornets win! They are ready to take on Dan Uggla and his Florida Marlins. The offense was slow, but that didn't seem to matter as the Hornets blanked Clorado, 2-1. Mike Pelfrey pitched this game and went 7 innings while only allowing 1 run, Johnny Cueto then went in who shutout the Rockies in his inning of work. The bullpen kept on striding as R. Betancourt pitched a 3 strikeout inning to win the game for the Hornets.

Although they tied, they couldn't keep it up due to a bad call by the umpire. Bottom of the 11th inning, we are in extras, Adam Jones hit a liner to the second baseman, and Spark dove right back in, apparently out. But our cameras show that he was safe by about 3 seconds. This is a worse call then the Armando Gallaraga call. Oh wait that happens in the future. Either way, the Hornets lost. Want a better run through? Become a reds fan.

(The suspense is killing me, no more run throughs until next season really want to get to the offseason.)

Won't worry about that. Everyone who performed poorly or was in AAA all year and sucked was released. Mark Ellis and Stephen Drew though, were released due to high as heck contracts. Both wanted over 10 million.

You know? I can tell last season wasn't very detailed, I'm going to try to focus more on detail and just expand on what our "reporters" already say to give you an even more indepth look at the New Orleans Hornets. I'm also going to play less games so the squads wins are less inflated by my work.

No update today, but it'll be coming soon.

Are you kidding me, are you freaking kidding me?

I didn't save at the end of the WS and the offseason.

This has got to be the most annoying thing I've ever have happen to me in power pros.

Well, lets do this.

I really don't care we didnt even get to the NLCS anymore, kind of good for my conscious to know we aren't that OP, tbh. Anyways, twins won the World Series, same awards went except we had no WS MVP.

Free Agent Moves:

So some of the guys we signed previously aren't free agents .-. So here's who we signed this time.

Scott Podsednik: 600 for 2 years
Julian Tavarez: 1090 for 2 years
Brian Moehler: 1050 for 1 year.

Alright, time for spring training. The only big conversion is that Neagle will be converting into a second baseman to fill the hole there left by Mark Ellis.

The biggest disappointment was that Neagle failed his 2B conversion, he'll start there however and we'll manually convert him during the season. We went 0-2-2 in spring training, the latter being ties.
