Pittsburgh Pirates (16-15) @ Washington Nationals (19-12)

May 3, 2008: The Nationals defeated the Pirates today, in a game that was mainly a pitchers duel. But, all of the runs came off of homers. The starters for both teams pitched well, and the first run wasn't scored until the 6th inning. Austin Kearns finally got to Ian Snell, with a 2 run homer to give the Nationals a 2-0 lead. That homer also happened to be the 100th of Kearns' career, so congrats to him! The Pirates finally managed a run off of Norris in the 8th, when Nate McClouth hit a long homer to dead center, to make it 2-1. Nick Johnson hit his 9th of the year, another solo homer, in the bottom of the 8th, and made it 3-1, Nats. Cordero would notch a save in the 9th, and the Nationals would notch a win.

Washington Nationals (23-19) @ New York Mets (25-16)

May 15, 2008: The Nationals beat the division rival Mets today, for only the third time this year. This win avoided a sweep, in a 4 game series. The Nationals are only 5-9 this month so far. This game was another pitcher's duel, as both teams had their aces on the mound. Chuck Norris went for the Nationals, and Johan Santana for the Mets. Both pitchers dominated the first 6 innings, but the last 3 of regulation were a bit exciting. Eric Chavez scored the first run of the game, on a fielder's choice in the 7th inning. Jose Reyes tacked on another for the Mets, with an RBI single in the same inning, making it 2-0, Mets. In the 8th, Zimmerman got a run back with a solo homer to right field, just barely fair, making it 2-1. Smoove went yard in the top of the 9th, and gave the Nats new life by tying the game 2-2. Saul Rivera shut the Mets down in the 9th, and it was on to extras. The Mets threatened to score almost every inning, but Rivera and Rauch didn't allow a run. In the 13th, the Nationals finally got into position to score, with Rauch on second, and Wily Mo Pena on 3rd, and 1 out. Cristian Guzman singled, scoring both runs, and giving the Nationals a 2 run lead. Cordero shut down the Mets in the bottom half, and got another save, his first since May 3. Hopefully the Nats can continue to get wins, and turn this month around.

Smoove would like to know if he's the team leader in HRs.

He says he intends to continue his hot rookie season and will make sure the Nats are in first place in the NL East by May's end.

He tells Cordero to keep it going this season on the pitching side while he does his damage on the offensive side.

Cordero has been very solid this season, I like him.

I do believe Smoove is leading in homers. I think Nick Johnson is in second with 9, then Zimmerman has 8.

F.Lopez would like to know if he is doing good!

Yeah, he is batting about .330 with 4 homers and a couple RBI's. He's been solid on defense too.

I think he means stats as in abilities.

Maybe he means attributes?
