Superstars clinch series with sweeping 7-5 win:

One of the closer games the Superstars have played in has nonetheless resulted in a win for them. In what is becoming a familiar sight for Superstars fans, Yoshi singled followed by a Luigi home run to give the Superstars the 2-0 lead, this time it was in the third inning. King Boo gave up a run in the bottom of the inning, then 2 home runs the next inning to give up the 3-2 lead, Mario and Donkey Kong hit back to back home runs next inning to take a 4-3 lead. King Boo would give up the tying run in the 7th inning. The game was tied in the 8th, runners made it to first and second with 1 out for the Superstars, their manager really looked like he struggled with the next decision, but he ultimately did pinch hit for King Boo, bringing in Hammer Bro. This decision proved to be the correct one immediately, as he crushed a 3 run home run out of the park to give the Superstars a 7-4 lead. Fireballer pitched an inning of relief without allowing a run, then Boo came in for the 9th, gave up a home run to Torrealba and still got the save.

Now the ultimate question, do I raise the difficulty even further for the next series, or will the fact that it's against a better team in the Yankees be enough to give me good enough chances to lose? I've actually been raising the difficulty after virtually every game of these playoffs, now I'm at All-Star batting and pitching with no lock-on. I think the next pitching difficulty does the thing where the pitch moves around, and I don't want to set that for fear of being shutout every game.

And if you didn't catch that, yeah, the Yankees advanced in their series, they also won it in a 4 game sweep.

I can post some abilities later, anyone specific you want to know about? I'll try to get as many as I can, but posting everything will get pretty tedious. Also, in case you didn't know, Yoshi has his already posted on the first page.

I've actually decided I will be going over the stats and abilities of everyone, as part of a World Series preview thing. I'm really looking forward to actually starting the World Series, but I figure it makes more sense to do a preview rather than go straight into it, I mean, the World Series is kind of a big deal, especially when a team that came out of nowhere makes it in their first year after going 7-0 in the first two rounds.

While getting the information on all the hitters, I also found out how I can check some basic stats my players got in the playoffs so far, so I'll use that in the preview as well. I don't know how in-depth I'm going to go in the preview, I'm probably just going to use all of the ideas I have for it and then get the games started.

When compared with the Yankees, they definitely at least have a chance to win the series, the only thing that's a guarantee is that at least one of these teams will break their playoff long win streak, both being 7-0 to get to the World Series.


Postseason stats so far:

Yoshi: .514 average, 1 home run, 7 RBI. He has continued to be a phenomenal leadoff hitter this whole playoff run.

Luigi: .500 average, 4 home runs, 10 RBI. He's been a great hitter the whole playoffs as well, hitting for a remarkable average and knocking out a few key home runs.

Mario: .324 average, 2 home runs, 8 RBI. Hitting for the lowest average on the team, he has still had success at times.

Donkey Kong: .406 average, 6 home runs, 11 RBI. Hitting for a great average and leading the team in home runs, the team couldn't ask for more out of him.

Bowser: .343 average, 4 home runs, 12 RBI. Leading the team in RBI, he's been great at driving in whatever runs Donkey Kong leaves there for him.

Peach: .500 average, 0 home runs, 4 RBI. Peach has been a generally quiet player, not hitting a lot of home runs or driving in a lot of runs, but they have hit a ton of singles with great conistency.

Daisy: .394 average, 2 home runs, 9 RBI. A great RBI total for the number 7 hitter, 6 of those runs were driven in on recent home runs.

Birdo: .387 average, 0 home runs, 1 RBI. A very quiet playoff run for Birdo, but by no means has he been bad, he's hit for a pretty good average and is typically known more for his glove anyway.

Corey Hart: .400 average, 0 home runs, 0 RBI. Has been good in some of the few at bats he has been given.

Hammer Bro: .500 average, 1 home run, 5 RBI. Has been amazing for the chances he has been getting, driving in the tying runs in game 1 against the Rockies and the winning runs to sweep the series in game 4.

When interviewed, Hammer Bro said he was really excited about getting some starts as the DH in this next series and that he can't wait to bring the hammer down that crushes the Yankees as well.

Superstars pitching in general hopes it can bring down some of the run totals scored against them for the World Series, but as long as their hitters keep producing at the level they have been, it won't really be necessary.


This should definitely be a close series, based on their regular season records, the Yankees are just one game better than them, and this can be counted in as many as 169 games because they have the same playoff record as well.

Who will win the World Series MVP Award? Will it be a Yankees star like Posada or Rodriguez? Or a Superstars star like Yoshi, Donkey Kong, or, if their recent trend continues, even Daisy?

The Yankees are going for their 27th World Series win while the Superstars are attempting to achieve their first.

The Yankees have home field advantage because of the way the All-Star Game turned out.
