no homers in 9 games coming in, Norris hits four and Beltre hits three in the next two, what gives?

also, I sure hope Scribner didn't pitch in either of those games

Nah he didn't.

I changed the lock-on level to 1 to see if it changes anything. I normally don't see "watched" games get that much offensive production.

The irony...

Also, you may have answered this before, but how do these games work? Do you watch all of them or do you play some of the games? Do you do any of the managing (i.e. setting lineups and making substitutions) or is that all left up to the CPU?

I've changed the lineups in every game, it's rare that there's a lineup that's identical to the game before.

I watch the games, and make substitutions when I want to, but the CPU makes some subs that I don't like (i.e.) Sogard pinch running for Donaldson, etc.

Yeah, I try to change up my lineup (in my OOTP log) too -- I've played 52 games and used 50 different lineups [not counting the pitcher as part of the lineup] so I'd say I'm doing a good job of that :P

That's what I thought, figured it might be a problem if you let the CPU have any control  but at least you can make most of the subs you want to

Game 3 @ Texas
April 13th, 2014

Image

Oakland: 8 (6-6)
Texas: 7 (5-7)

W - Sonny Gray 2-1 3.10 ERA
L - Jason Frasor 0-1 7.94 ERA
S - Sean Doolittle (2)
HR - Jurickson Profar (4), Prince Fielder 2(5,6), Adrian Beltre (4), Alex Rios (2), Josh Donaldson 2(4,5), Yoenis Cespedes (3), Brandon Moss (2), John Jaso (1)

Oakland -- So, the Athletics finally got off their 6-game skid, but barely did it, as Doolittle came 90 feet from blowing the save. Many homers were hit again, Profar, Fielder, and Beltre hit back-to-back-to-back solo shots in the first after the A's struck on a Donaldson 2-R HR. Donaldson left the game early after getting hurt diving for a ground ball. Sogard took his spot, but we'll have to wait for the MRI results on Donaldson. Jaso hit his first homer of the year, and Moss hit his second, as well as Cespedes hitting his third. Sonny Gray pitched a shaky 5 and 2/3 innings allowing 5 runs, barely getting the win. The A's will travel to Anaheim next to take on the Angels in a 3-game series.

League Blowouts
Reds whip the Brewers' booties 13-2

In other, league-wide news, the Weekly MVP's for 4/7-4/13 have been announced!

AL
C Derek Norris .607 4HR 11RBI (OAK)
SP Chris Sale W 0.00 ERA 12K (CWS)

NL
SP Clayton Kershaw 2W 0.00 ERA 20K (LAD)
LF Lucas Duda .458 0HR 10RBI (NYM)

Donaldson, MRI goes great

Oakland -- The results from Josh Donaldson's MRI are back, and the A's star is only going to be out 1-5 days with a bruise on his hip. Donaldson will only be out of the lineup one day, likely, as Sogard, will get his first start of the year.

Dang! Calhoun hit .565 in the week!!! Did Harang throw a no-hitter or perfecto? I don't think he warrants POW with only 5 strikeouts.
