Eagles Sweep Behind (what else) Strong Bullpen
Franky Martinez
April 7th, 2008

Today the Eagles put together another comeback victory. The match ups featured the Eagles Larry Bernandez and the Indians Paul Byrd. Things were bleak from the get-go when Larry Bernandez gave up three runs in the first inning alone, capped off by a Victor Martinez two run homer.

The Eagles got a run back in the top of the second via a Troy So solo blast but the run was quickly gotten back by the Indians when Grady Sizemore smashed a solo homer to right center. The Eagles shrunk their deficit to one when Troy So delivered again with a two run single.

The Indians would extend their lead in the bottom of the fifth when Ryan Garko hit a moonshot into the left field stands, giving the Indians a five to three lead. After the homer, Bernandez would be replaced by newly acquired Andrew Yi, who would do an excellent job keeping the Eagles in the game.

In the top of the eighth and outs running out KiD CuDi would hit a solo homer to shorten the Indians lead to one. Two batters later, Dan Martia would also blast a solo homer tying the game for the first time. The next batter would be Gordon Freeman, who double to left center. David So would come up and hit a grounder to the shortstop who nailed Freeman trying to go to third. Kanye West hit a single in the next AB, deep enough in the outfield to allow David So to advance to third. This paved the way for Willie the Kid who singled in a run giving the Eagles a six to five lead.

Newly aqcuired LaMarcus James would pitch a great 8th inning, paving the way for Kenny Powers. Powers would get one out then allow three consecutive singles. Powers would then get a Double Play to end the game, allowing the Eagles to sweep the Indians. The Eagles now travel to Hawaii to face the rival Hawaii Whales

Eagles Fall in Slugfest
April 8th

The Eagles would get their first view of Rainbow Beach Stadium since playing an exhibition game before the start of the season. They are entering a full on hitters ballpark and it would present itself that way in today's game. The soup of the day had aces Boo Gonzalez and Timothy duking it out against each other. However, the game didn't go exact as each pitcher planned.

The Whales got it going early when E. Lopez and D. Jones hit consecutive lead-off singles. Clark would hit a double play ball, but would be safe at first. With 1st and 3rd and only one out, Willis would hit an RBI single. Gonzalez escaped trouble by getting a double play to end the inning.

The lead was short lived for the Whales when slugger Troy So blasted an opposite field two run homer to give the Eagles a one run lead. The bottom of the fourth, however, was one Boo would like to forget. He gave up two two run homers, one to Eagle killer Parkman and one to E. Lopez, giving the Whales a five to two lead.

Troy So tried keeping his guys in the game, singling in a run in the top of the 6th, but Parkman would demolish a solo homer in the bottom of the inning. After giving up the blast, fireballer Lewis Lopez would come in and finish the inning on a high note. In the top of the seventh, the Eagles would reduce the lead to one when Willie the Kid lined a two run single into center, making it 6-5. Timothy would then be replaced by Garcia, who picked off Willie killing of a potential rally.

In the bottom of the seventh Jack Clark would add a run to the Whales lead by hitting an RBI single, but in the top of the eighth the Eaglew were able to tie it up when Dan Martia hit an RBI single and Gordon Freeman would hit an RBI fielders choice.

In the bottom of the inning, the E. Lopez would give the Whales a lead when he hit a moonshot into the left field stands (with the animation).

In the top of the ninth, the Eagles would have their first look at Jay, the Whales closer. The Eagles were able to get a run, when after Willie and Nakamura singles and a sac bunt, Smith would hit a sacrifice fly to tie the game.

The bottom of the inning would have flamethrower Robin be going out. The first batter he faced was Orlando, who would hit a walkoff out of the ballpark.

PLAYER UPDATE

Boo: That game no go well.

Robin: Tell me about it. Even I can't get hyped about that.

Powers: Those guys are like machines. I wonder where Goldman got that kind of talent.

Raymond: Wouldn't be surprised if that old a** cracka just cloned that team like that boy Sittch.

Dan: Pretty sure he didn't. They're probably from some independent league or they play in Japan.

*beep beep beep*

Dan: Hey Rev just sent me a voicemail. Someone hand me the speaker.

Rev: Hey guys, sorry about today's loss. Can't win 'em all. I have some news for you guys. Goldman got his clone machine back up and running. He created an improved version of Sy and sold him to the Yankees for quite a profit. He also made some other players and sold them to some small market teams for quite a paycheck. Be on the lookout for them.

Freeman: F***
