I think you used the word "would" too much.

"The team took a lead in the 6th" sounds better than "In the 6th, the team would take a lead." (too passive)

Other than that, nice job! Martia had a good game!

UPDATE:
Hey guys. Right now, I'm stock-piling games. I have about 3 or 4 games lying around. I have a plan for a Players Update. I'm also working on the Devil Rays. Expect a lot of games next week!

Eagles Mount Another Comeback Behind Smith Homer
Franky Martinez
April 6th, 2008

The Eagles found away to fall behind early then scratch and claw their way back into the game and take the lead too. For the second game in this series, the Eagles would be throwing out Lupe Fiasco and the Indians would send Fausto Carmona.

The game didn't start out the way the Eagles would want it. They let a great scoring opportunity go when in the top of the second, Martia smashed a lead-off double off the left-center field wall, but was unable to score after a failed Freeman sacrifice lead to him being lured right into an easy out at third. Freeman would be able to reach first, but no farther than that.

The Eagles wished they had gotten Martia home because in the next inning, Victor Martinez blasted a homer into the right field stands, giving the Indians an early one to nothing lead. The next batter, Johnny Peralta hit a line drive double and was advance to third on a Ryan Garko ground-out to Kanye West, but Fiasco dug deep and got two, loud, outs.

The Eagles tied the game in the top of the fifth. Martia started the inning off with a single. He proceeded to swipe second with ease. Freeman would lay down a beautiful sacrifice bunt that worked. Kanye West would then pull a ball down the left field line, easily allowing Martia to score.

The tie ballgame was short lived when Casey Blake would send a ball towering two run homer into the left field stands to again give the Indians the lead, making it three to one.

The Eagles would score again in the top of the sixth. Nakamura hit a one of single and swipe second. After KiD CuDi popped out to second, Raymond Smith would hit for struggling hitter Patrick Gainer and he would deliver punching an RBI double right into the gap of right center. He would be stranded after Troy So would ground-out.

After Fiasco pitched a good sixth inning, the Eagles would tie the game when right fielder David So would hit a two out RBI double. The Eagles looked to take the lead in the inning but Willie the Kid, coming off a 4-4 game, would ground-out to end the threat.

Robin the little ball of energy on the Eagles would take over for the bottom of the seventh, but he would suffer a bit. He gave up a lead-off double to Gutierrez. Gutierrez was replaced by a slightly faster Shin-So Choo. The following batter, Michales, grounded out to second allowing Choo to get over to third. With one out, Blake would once again allow the Indians to take the lead with an RBI ground-out.

In the top of the 8th inning, the Eagles would finally find themselves on top. The inning would start off with a CuDi single up the middle. The next batter would be slugger, Raymond Smith. On the 0-0 pitch and CuDi running, Smith would hit a moonshot to right center giving the Eagles their first lead off the day. After a great bottom of the eighth by Robin, the Eagles would tack on three in the ninth.

The bottom of the ninth belonged to Pablo Sanchez who, after giving up a homer to Johnny Peralta, shut the door to preserve an Eagles victory.

Patrick is sad... again.
Robin thinks he did well. Or as he says it,"I THINK I DID ALL RIGHT! WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK?!"

Maybe. That arm is going to kill me. He may be a spot DH next to Troy So. In the offseason I might try to convert him to a 1st baseman
