He played very well in this second April. Sylvester Coddmeyer III of the Dolphins actually won it in the real one.

Series Preview: Texas Rangers (16-19) vs. Honolulu Gunmen (18-17)
May 9th-11th

Key Players:

Tony Centeno - SP
3-2, 3.29 ERA, 38.1 IP, 35 K
92, B, B, 2SFB(2), SCB(3), CHG(3), H-SNK(4), Spin 4, Groundball P, Safe Pitch, Gd Reflexes, Unlucky, Star
Bio: Tony is a 33-year old right hander notorious for getting little to no run support. His bread and butter pitch is his sinker, which is he uses frequently to induce ground balls.
Analysis: Along with C.J. Wilson, Centeno is pretty much the only reason the Rangers aren't doing even worse than 16-19.

C.J. Wilson - SP
2-3, 2.51 ERA, 43.0 IP, 44 K
94, D, A, SLD(3), CB(3), CHG(2), SIFB(2), Groundball P, Gd Delivery, Power P
Bio: C.J. Wilson is an excellent complement to Tony Centeno. His biggest flaw is his tendency to under-use his breaking pitches, as he mostly relies on his fastball.
Analysis: Wilson is red hot right now, coming off a 6.2 inning shutout victory in which he struck out seven.

Josh Hamilton - CF
.223 2 HR, 14 RBI
3, B, A, D, C, D, E, Clutch Hit 4, Power Hitter, Spray Hitter, VS Lefty 2, Aggressive HTR
Bio: Approaching his 28th birthday, Hamilton is currently one of the best power hitters in the game. He regularly is among the league leaders in batting average, doubles, home runs, and slugging percentage.
Analysis: Hamilton's batting average has improved slightly over the last three games, but is still quite low for a player of his caliber.

Projected Pitching Match-ups:

Game 1
Cesario Castillo (2-2, 4.54) vs. Tony Centeno (3-2, 3.29)

Game 2
Charlie Huff (3-2, 4.64) vs. Eddie Guadardo (0-1, 4.40)

Game 3
Brendan Bikowski (2-2, 5.27) vs. Vicente Padilla (2-3, 5.89)

Texas Rangers (16-19) vs. Honolulu Gunmen (18-17)

With Cesario Castillo coming off a win, I felt good about his start today; however, in just the first inning, he served up a meatball to Josh Hamilton, who cranked a home run well over the center field wall to give the Rangers an early one-run lead. Alright, it's just one, I thought, trying to stay optimistic. The next batter grounded to second and the inning was over.

I thought things had started off well for us, as Jose Medrano yanked a curveball to left field for a single, but Marcus McElroy promptly grounded into a double play. Juan Hernandez flew out to center field, and the inning ended with the Rangers up 1-0.

In the top of the second inning, Castillo worked his way around two base runners with one out by inducing a fielder's choice and a popout. Tony Centeno then cruised his way through the bottom half in just three pitches.

We almost got to Centeno in the third, as a single and a double from Donnie Wilde and Jose Medrano put runners at second and third with two outs, but McElroy was unable to cash in. The Rangers then extended their lead after a pair of hits and an error by Castillo brought in a run.

With two outs in the bottom of the fourth, Derek Wayne stepped up to the plate. Tony left a changeup up in the zone on the first pitch, and Derek jumped all over it, blasting it to center field for a home run. Both pitchers then cruised through the fifth.

When Castillo served up a single to start the sixth, I called for time and motioned to the bullpen from which Devin Edwards then trotted out. He looked good in warm-ups, but then promptly gave up back-to-back singles that loaded the bases. He managed to get Gerald Laird to ground into a double play, but a run scored nonetheless, and the Rangers' lead was back to two. Ben Broussard then took a fastball to left field, scoring another run and making the score 4-1. The next batter grounded out, but the damage was done: Centeno continued to pitch well, completed the game, and picked up the win.

Final Score:
Texas Rangers - 4
Honolulu Gunmen - 1

Well, I added some color. It's not much, but it seems to add a little bit of... flair to the post. I debated whether or not to highlight the box score, but decided against it since I don't include the opponent's so there's really no confusion as to which one is the Gunmen's.

You're hovering right around .500.

The color looks good, too. :)
