Pirates respond to Zimmer taking over; combine to throw no-no in extra innings!

This is probably the second time a no-no has ever been thrown in extra innings in baseball history. It was incredible, because this no-no, went both ways. That's right~! Bronson Arroyo was able to keep the Pirates at bay until the tenth inning when Chris Duffy came in for Austin Kearns. He hit a walk off homerun to right, which ended the game.

The victory puts the Pirates in first place in the NL Central, and the following Bucs make history:

Anibal Sanchez - he went seven and two-thirds of an inning, striking an incredible eighteen batters. Then, Chamberlain came into relieve him. Chamberlain pitched two and a third of an inning, allowing zero hits, but striking no one. Incredible defense.

Chris Duffy is the player of the game for his walk-off homerun, duh.

Anyway guys, do you like me doing things the way I originally did them? Post a recap, pictures, etc. . . or do what I'm trying now, basically short posts, little detail, and no pictures? I'm fine with doing either or.

Pirates one game out of first, six games left before season is over

The Pirates have to take first. If they don't, they will be unable to make the postseason. One game out of first, they need to win...

Pirates Season Recap

The Pirates had a wonderful first season under Little's ownership. They had their first winning season in awhile, finished over .500, and won ninety games, even. However, even their Cinderella performance wasn't enough to get them into the playoffs. An unfortunate end to a beautiful story.

"I had a wonderful season for Pittsburg. I'm pursuing a contract renewal. I love it here." David Wright, all-star first baseman said. "I'd love to be a Buc until I retire. The experience is just that great." When confronted with the news of the Mets and Yanks making the World Series he replied, "I could have been on a World Series team, sure. However, this was a better experience for me. I [and others] had to lead this team. We each pulled our own weight and then some." David Wright left the interview with a smile on his face.

He wasn't the only one we got a chance to interview though. We got a shot at Andrew ReLink. We asked him how he thought the Pirates' season was. "Psh, I don't care anymore. They could have won a World Series with me, but they fired me. I didn't embezzle, Little and Selig are morons. I offered cash to teams, yeah, I offered cash. That's what happened." Then we asked him if they could have won under his management. "What do you play me for? A fool? Anyone could have navigated the Bucs to the World Series. Well, Zimmer can't, forgive me." ReLink's personality has completely changed since being fired from the Bucs. However, he has noted, "I got [some] rivals trying to persuade me to manage them."

Well, again, the season was a great one. Little has the team for nine more years. He better make things right and get this team two World Championships!

Obviously, I don't know anything about the AL. The Pirates had more runs than any AL team, so I don't know how his ERA is that high compared to most NL's pitchers. Heck, Zach Duke would have been a Cy Young Winner there. :)

As for me not covering every fielding posistion, my hands are cramping and I handwrite everything and copy it over to the PC.

Yeah, I'm hoping to be able to pick up some relievers. My pen blew the games. <_< I fast-game'd everything in September. Starters never gave up a run and if they did, it wasn't a lot. However, my pen would give up 3-4 runs a game. :(

Contract Renewal Begins; Zimmer expected to resign everyone

Well, it is what we'd like to see. The same Pirates' team that brought us to ninety wins. If they take the field again, we could have a possible post season run. Big-time stars like David Wright are locked up for another two-three years, which makes us, as Bucs' fans, breathe a sigh of relief.

King Felix offered a one million, three-hundred and sixty-million dollar deal for three years.

Felix Hernandez lead the Majors with wins this year, and the Pirates have every intention of signing him back. Hernandez only wants one year, but Pirates are hoping he'll come back for three. He can get upto twenty million with incentives, one of which is pitching a no-no.
