Crawford's Walk-Off Single Gives Mens 2nd Straight Loss

BOSTON, MA - It was a crazy game that ended with a crazy finish. Carl Crawford's walk-off hit off of Steve Durham capped off a game in which the Mens were trying to make a comeback.

Boston was all over Jimmy Panther until he was pulled in the 4th, starting with a Will Middlebrooks RBI groundout that Bernard only had one choice to throw to - 1B - giving the Sox an early 1-0 lead.

In the bottom of the third, the Red Sox got two more runs off of Panther with 2 outs, with a David Ortiz double and a Jarrod Saltalamacchia single to make it 3-0 Red Sox.

The Mendenhals were down 4-0 heading into the 8th, with starter Jon Lester still out there. He then proceeded to give up a Scuba Steve double off the center field wall, and a Steve Barnes single up the gut. The scoring in the 8th was capped off by a Mitch Anderson 2-run home run to tie the game up at 4, and spelling the end of the day for Lester.

In relief of Panther, Angel Garcia's only mistake was the Dustin Pedroia RBI single in the 7th, but he did a masterful job in relief of Panther, pitching a solid 3 innings.

In the 9th, Jeff Durham, who already pitched an inning, tried to keep the game tied to try to go to extras, but Crawford's walk-off changed all that, as the Mendenhals go to their 2nd straight loss, their first losing streak of the season.
