Actually, this is the first season, despite it being/me claiming it is 2015 and also on the 14th page.

It's a slow-moving log. The other followers can attest to this. ;)

That explains why Garret Anderson didn't retire...
Did you make these players that I've never heard of?

Yeah, he edited in some fictional players.

Heh...

Yes, every player on the Gunmen's 25-man roster is a Success mode player. We also have 8 AAA players, all of whom are edited. The other expansion team, the Sacramento Dolphins, is comprised of 25 edited players based on various books by Matt Christopher (idea courtesy of PowerPro Jr).

In addition to these players, most teams have a player or two that I edited. Raul Alcarez, for example, replaced Vladimir Guerrero.

Series Preview: Sacramento Dolphins (9-9) vs. Honolulu Gunmen (7-11)
April 21st-24th

The Dolphins have been on a tear lately, winning seven of their last nine. Meanwhile, we've dropped seven of our last nine. I'm surprised Greene hasn't called to talk trash... if he does, I think I'll let it go to voice mail.

Key Players:

Sylvester Coddmeyer III - CF
.254, 3 HR, 11 RBI
4, C, A, C, D, D, D, VS Lefty 4, Power Hitter, Slugger
Bio: Coddmeyer is an incredible power hitter, and in his younger days was referred to as "The Kid Who Only Hit Homers". Now, at the age of 24 and after breaking several college records, he is ready to take on the Majors.
Analysis: Coddmeyer has been decent so far this year.

Skeeter Miracle - DH
.241, 1 HR, 7 RBI
B, B, E, E, F, G, Spray Hitter, Hot Hitter, Tough Out, Error Prone, Slugger, Aggressive HTR
Bio: An absolute butcher in the field, Skeeter is likely to never touch it again; however, he is a dynamic hitter who hits well to all fields and consistently hits for both average and power.
Analysis: Since starting out poorly, Skeeter has brought his average up to almost .250.

Danny Walker - SS
.276, 1 HR, 8 RBI, .364 OBP
C, C, D, B, B, B, Throwing 4, Gold Glover, Barehand CTH, Pivot Man
Bio: Walker is a solid hitter, but his real talent lies within his fielding. Experts say he'll be a gold glove candidate throughout his career, and his ability at shortstop is only overshadowed by veterans such as Adam Everett, Omar Vizquel, and David Eckstein.
Analysis: Walker's production on offense has been merely average, but, as always, he's an incredible fielder.

Stan Martin - 2B
.333, 1 HR, 2 RBI, .463 SLG%
2, D, E, C, E, D, B
Bio: Martin is a pretty unnoticeable player who tends to neither shine nor make mistakes.
Analysis: Although he really isn't that great, Martin leads the team in both batting average and slugging percentage. He is also yet to make an error through nearly 150.0 innings in the field.

Projected Pitching Match-ups:

Game 1
Brendan Bikowski (0-1, 6.11) vs. Jimmie Todd (2-1, 2.19)

Todd (91, F, B, 2SFB[1], CHG[2], CNK[2]) has poor control and fairly weak breaking pitches, but has still been excellent in his swing man role. Bikowski, meanwhile, has struggled as our ace thus far.

Game 2
Charlie Huff (2-0, 2.57) vs. Eddie Cicotte (1-0, 3.86)

Cicotte (90, B, A, SCB[2], KN[6], CHG[3]) has one of the best knuckleballs I've ever seen, and he has the pitching style of someone you'd expect to play in 1915, not 2015...

Game 3
Akinori Otsuka (1-2, 6.27) vs. Paul Karoski (1-1, 2.30)

Paul Karoski (94, C, B, SCB[4], CCHG[3], SPLIT[2]) is a pretty solid pitcher, and he's had a pair of really nice starts so far this year, despite losing one.

Game 4
Johnny Rivera (0-2, 3.15) vs. Koby Caplin (1-2, 5.79)

Koby Caplin (97, C, A, 2SFB[1], CB[3], CHG[2]) is the fire to Eddie Cicotte's ice. His fastball tops out at 97 miles per hour, and his curveball isn't bad either. He's quite popular with the fans, but seems to not like all the media attention. Sort of funny, I guess.

Sacramento Dolphins (9-9) vs. Honolulu Gunmen (7-11)

Well... today's game did not get off to a good start. Brendan served up five hits in the first inning and allowed three runs. Then, Jimmie Todd came out and promptly set down our first three batters. Ugh, I thought, if he hasn't called yet, he certainly will if we keep playing like this.

Things hardly picked up from there, and by the bottom of the sixth inning had rolled around, the score was 5-0 and Bikowski had been pulled. I wasn't feel too good as Marcus McElroy made the first out, but then, Juan Hernandez singled, followed by Matt McCarthy, and finally, Derek Wayne. Hernandez slid into home on Wayne's single, although he may as well have stayed at third, as on the very next pitch, Danny Millwood, who had pinch hit for Patrick Warr earlier, bombed a 3-run shot to left-center field. The crowd roared, and Danny was greeted with slaps to the helmet. Suddenly, it was 5-4. I could feel Greene steaming from the visitor's box as Johnathan Grey headed out to the mound to pull Jimmie Todd, replacing him with Joey Gallagher.

Donnie Wilde stepped up to the plate, clearly excited by Millwood's homer. He swung at Gallagher's first pitch and beat it into the ground. Fortunately for Donnie, Joey misplayed it and he was able to pull into first with an infield single. Joey ended up throwing two wild pitches to Steve Bernard, who ultimately slapped a 3-1 fastball to second base. There, Stan Martin fielded it and threw home, but it was too late. Donnie Wilde slid in safely, and Steve Bernard was standing on first. The score: 5 to 5.

Viet Trieu went out to the mound for his second inning of work. He kicked things off beautifully by allowing a single, then a 2-run homer. I didn't even have anyone warming up, but I didn't care. I yanked him immediately, and Evan Lorrier was able to escape without further damage.

With one out in the bottom half, Juan Hernandez stepped up to the plate, Joey Gallagher still on the mound. He missed the first pitch with a violent swing, but kept his cool and made contact with pitch #2. The ball went sailing over the outfielders' heads, clearing the wall by quite a margin for a solo home run. Matt McCarthy nearly did the same, but was retired on a deep flyout instead. Derek Wayne then grounded a single to center, and I decided to play a little hunch I had.

Danny Millwood, who had been put in to face the left-handed Jimmie Todd, wouldn't have the advantage he did before when he hit that home run. Despite him also being a righty, I told Roy Schapp to grab a bat. He looked nervous, but headed out to the plate. Joey Gallagher threw a ball, then a strike, then another ball. Roy Schapp called time and stepped out of the batter's box. And then, a shot. The crowd exploded in pure excitement, willing that little white sphere to go over the wall in left-center field. And when I saw that ball clear the fence... I remembered why I love the game of baseball so damn much: The fans, the players, and the coaches... everyone was unified by the one central goal. It was only April, just game number 19, and yet everyone, including myself, was as invested in this game as a World Series clincher.

An idiotic smile still on my face, I phoned the bullpen and ordered Adam Wilson to get up and ready to pitch. He came in and quickly retired three Dolphin hitters, and in the ninth, Rick Allen did the same.

Sacramento Dolphins - 7
Honolulu Gunmen - 8

Raines wasn't feeling well, so I decided to give Danny Millwood a shot in center field. It was just my luck that Grey pitched Jimmie Todd, a lefty.

The offense kind of fell asleep after scoring seven runs in the first two innings, but I guess I shouldn't complain.
