June in Review

Although the Royals had a good draft in June, the guys currently in the majors did not have a good month, mainly the offense that was only able to score 88 runs the entire month. Finishing the month on a five game skid, the Royals went 10-16 for the month, and lie in a tie for last place in the division with the Twins, both with records of 36-46, ten games back of the first place Tigers. Around the majors, the Yankees lead the AL East. The Angels lead the AL West, but barely ahead of the A's and Mariners. The Marlins and Phillies are tied atop the NL East in a VERY tight division. The Reds lead the NL Central with the best record in the majors at 54-28. And finally, the Dodgers lead the the NL West, but are followed close behind by the Rockies. Let's hope for a better July, and second half of the season for the Royals.

Royals Send Down Ramirez, Bale; Call Up Peralta, Finegan

In an attempt to rejuvenate their bullpen, the Royals have called up some fresh arms. They have called up righty Joel Peralta, and rookie draft pick from this year John Finegan. To make room for them on the rosters, the Royals have sent down Ramon Ramirez, and lefty John Bale. Both will likely be back up in no time, but the Royals just need a couple of fresh arms on the roster for now.

These losses are getting more and more painful... I want to trade for a GREAT hitter so bad, but I can't think of any realistic trade. You don't ever see a last place team trade for a big name player near the deadline, only the good teams. I guess I'll have to wait until the offseason and spend a TON of money.

Buck wants to suggest a trade for his good friend Lance Berkman.

I don't think a trade for Berkman would be realistic for the Royals. I was however considering trading Ross Gload to the Marlins for either Willingham or Jacobs. Jacobs actually did play for the Royals in '09, and Gload for the Marlins.

If I got Willingham, I would put Butler at first, and Willingham DH. If I got Jacobs, I would just put him at first where Gload was.

What does everyone think?
