Morrow is working on stamina at the moment, I intend for him to be a starter in the coming years.

Are you saying it's wrong to talk to a bag of Skittles? Because if so, I'm going to need to rethink a lot of things. :P

Also, remember when I was considering getting Carlos Peña, but got Daric Barton instead?

Carlos has 40 homers, 116 RBI and is batting .322 in August.

Focusing stamina practice might actually be good if you have a lot of young guys with B-C stamina. Is there anything that you have a lot of people practicing on right now?

Holy Flubberdoodles, Carlos Pena! Is he in the triple crown running with those numbers?

We have 75% of the pitchers working on breaking balls, but most of them could use some stamina training.

Alex Rodriguez is in the way of Pena, with a .399 average.

Quite a mistake by me. He just hit a two run homer against me.

Edit: Another one on me by Carlos.

August 10th, 2008.

Mariners lose as Fields fails in the clutch

Mariners: 7
Rays: 8

Win: Wheeler (7-3)
Save: Howry (1)
Loss: J.J. Putz (3-6)
HR: Beltre (16)
C. Pena (2) (41, 42)
R. Weeks (15)

The Mariners can't keep a grip on the second place spot in the division, as with this loss, they fall back down to third. Scott Olsen pitched this game, going seven poor innings, giving up six runs, but showing that he can be a workhorse, Carlos Pena was a factor in this game, going for two home runs and driving in 3 as the Mariners fall to the redhot Rays, 7-8.

Scott Olsen (7 IP, 6 R, 13 H, 3 K'S)
Adrian Beltre (4-5, 1 HR, 4 RBI, 2 R)

Yovani Gallardo (6 IP, 4 R, 10 H, 0 K'S)
Carlos Peña (3-4, 1 2B, 2 HR, 3 RBI, 2 R)

Seattle Mariners (62-68) @ Minnesota Twins (62-68)
August 25th, 2008.

Mariners win in debut of Josh Johnson and Joe Thurston

Win: J. Johnson (3-1)
Save: J.J. Putz (27)
Loss: Bonser (4-14)
HR: Cuddyer (16)

Four rookies were part of the starting lineup today, those four being Joe Thurston, Elijah Dukes, Daric Barton, and Josh Johnson. Joe making his major league debut felt anxious, but was definitely prepared as he went 3-4, getting his first major league hit on the first pitch of his first at-bat, a night to remember for the young man, the Mariners otherwise had a solid outing, with Josh Johnson pitching over a purple Scott Olsen, he went six and a third innings, giving up just 3 earned runs en route to his third win of the season, Boof Bonser was not so fortunate, he did his bullpen a favour by stretching five innings, giving up six runs, as well as eight hits whiles striking out one.

Boof Bonser (5 IP, 8 H, 4 ER, 6 R, 1 K)
Michael Cuddyer (2-5, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 R)

Josh Johnson (6 & 1/3 IP, 13 H, 3 ER, 3 K'S)
Jose Vidro (2-4, 1 2B, 3 RBI)

I'd like to thank Skittle for the format idea, I apologize if I seem like a pirate.

Arr!

Jose Vidro is happy with his 2-4, 3 RBI performance.

He better be!

I wrote down an update in between those two games I forgot to post, here it is.

August 15th, 2008.

Mariners win in complete game outing by Adam Loewen.

Mariners: 6
Athletics: 5

Win: Loewen (6-5)
Save: X
Loss: Morris (4-12)
HR: X

The Seattle Mariners have solidified their second place spot in the division after being tied with the Athletics for three days with a solid victory over their division rivals. Adam Loewen pitched his first career complete game. He ran into trouble giving up four runs in the eight, but manager David McFinley opted to keep him in for the ninth, which was a smart decision seeing as how he then pitched a 1-2-3 inning to finish the game off. Adrian Beltre was at usual, doing fantastic, going 3-4 with two RBI as he is the most likely candidate so far to win the Mariners MVP award, Raul has been playing great but has an average of .230.

Adam Loewen (9 IP, 12 H, 2 ER, 0 K'S)
Adrian Beltre (3-4, 2 RBI, 1 R)

Matt Morris (5 IP, 10 H, 5 ER, 0 K'S)
Eric Chavez (3-4, 1 RBI, 1 R)

I have an idea, this may or may not work.

Edit: scrap that idea, heh
