Yeah, I didn't expect him or Backe to be great, but they have the highest 2 averages on the team now I think. I have pretty much 4 lead-off batters, with Stewart, Jones, Backe, and Allen. Then Gordon, Greene, and Gonzalez get the RBI's. Allen also had a sweet diving catch that last game against the Rangers. I didn't think he'd get it. It was pretty sweet. :D

Well, Backe should be great, he's the first player you were supposed to make for the team.

Actually, I was thinking of the G-Force, not Killer G's. :D But I think we're too great. :( I think the record is 75-26. That's a guess.

Honolulu Sluggers (74-27) @ Boston Red Sox (53-48)
7-25-08-The Sluggers beat the Sox in Boston today, in another high scoring battle. In the top of the 2nd, Preston Greene hit a 2 run homer to make it 2-0. Not much happened then, until the 5th inning, when Manny hit a 3 run homer, and Pedroia hit an RBI single to put the Red Sox ahead 4-2. The Sluggers scored 3 in the 7th, on a Jones sac fly, and a 2 RBI double by Gordon to make it 5-4. The Red Sox scored 4 in their part of the 7th, on a Drew 2 RBI double, a Varitek RBI double, and a Lugo RBI single to put the Sox ahead 8-5. In the 8th, Allen doubled off of the Monster and brought in 2, to make it 7-8. Andrew Jones hit an RBI single then to tie the game at 8-8. They were forced into a 10th inning, where Gonzalez hit an RBI single to give the Sluggers a 9-8 lead. Washington closed the game out, and the Sluggers got the win. Our next game is on the 29th against the Red Sox again, but at home. Rocky Thornton is scheduled to pitch.

"Okay Bob, this is our July Review." said Alex.

"Wow." said Bob. "It's hard to believe that the season is already over half way done."

"Yeah. I'm excited to see how far we can go, though." said Alex.

"Alright, let's hear the review." said Bob.

July Review
The Sluggers had another excellent month in July, their record being an amazing 20-5 on the month. Their overall record is now 79-27, 11 games ahead of the Yankees for the best in the majors, and 15 above the Angels in the AL West. Pablo Gonzalez was voted Player of the Month again, batting .430 on the month, with 6 homers and 23 RBI's. Ryan Techer still has the best ERA, at 2.12. Johnny Washington has sole possession of the saves lead now, with 30. Jay Stewart still leads the Bigs in hits, with 154 on the season. Alex Gordon has dropped to 5th in homers, at 26, and 2nd in RBI's, at 104. Let's hope the Sluggers can continue to have a great season, and clinch a playoff spot! We all have hopes for a great August!

"As good as always, Alex." said Bob.

"Thank you, Bob." said Alex.

8-2-08-The Angels squeaked out a win against the Sluggers last night. Sheldon Anderson had all their RBI's. It got started early again, on a Willits RBI double to put the Angels up 1-0 after the 1st. In the 4th, Anderson got an RBI single to tie it at 1-1. Then in the 6th, Anderson got a 2 RBI single to make it 3-1. In the bottom of the 6th, Rollins hit a solo homer to make the lead only 1, by the score of 3-2. In the 7th, Johjima hit a solo homer to tie it again at 3-3. In the 8th, Anderson put them in the lead, on a sac fly to score Greene, and make it 4-3. In the 8th, the Angels re-took the lead, on a Chris Snyder pinch hit solo homer, to tie it at 4-4. Honolulu Sluggers (80-29) @ Los Angeles Angels (66-43)
8-3-08-The Sluggers won again today, avoiding a sweep by the Angels. The first run was scored in the 2nd, on a Backe sac fly, to make it 1-0. Jimmy Rollins soon tied it though, on an RBI double to tie it at 1-1. The Angels took the lead in the 3rd, on a Guerrero RBI single, to make it 2-1. In the 4th, the Sluggers loaded the bases, and Andrew Jones came through with a bases clearing double to make it 4-2. The Angels scored again in the home half though, on a Kendrick RBI single to make it 4-3. In the 7th, Greene hit an RBI single to put the Sluggers up by 2, 5-3. The Angels answered right back though, as Kotchman hit a solo homer, to make it 5-4, but they could score no more off of Hood or Washington. Our next game is on the 6th, with Ryan Techer pitching against the Yankees.

New York Yankees (69-43) @ Honolulu Sluggers (83-29)
8-6-08-The Sluggers pulled out a clean sweep of baseball's second best team today, and showed doubters what they are made of. In the bottom of the 2nd, Greene hit a solo homer into the swimming pool to make an early 1-0 lead. Then in the 4th, Withey got an RBI double to make it 2-0. The Yankees got on the board in the 6th, on a Giambi solo homer to make the score 2-1. Giambi repeated in the 8th, and tied it at 2-2. Alex Gordon came through for Ryan Techer though, and hit a solo home run of his own to make it 3-2. Techer pitched another complete game, and only gave up hits to Johnny Damon, who had 4, and Giambi, who had 2. Our next game is on the 12, in New York to face the Yankees again. Jason Young is scheduled to pitch.

I had to keep this from getting to page 2 of my posts, and I haven't played a game in forever, so I figured I better. :D

Honolulu Sluggers (85-31) @ New York Yankees (72-44)
8-12-08-This time it was A-Roid(whoops :) ) who hit 2 homers against the Sluggers, but they still were able to pull out the win thanks to the high powered offense. In the bottom of the 1st, A-Rod hit a 2 run homer to left, to make it 0-2. The Sluggers tied it in the 4th, on a Greene sac fly, and an Anderson RBI double. Then A-Rod hit his 2nd homer in as many plate appearances, and made it 3-2, Yankees. In the 5th, Gordon tied it on an RBI double, at 3-3. Then the Sluggers' bats really woke up, as the scored a run in the 7th on a Gonzalez RBI double, in the 8th on an Allen 2 RBI double, and a Stewart RBI double, to make it 7-3. But they weren't done yet, as they scored 2 more on an Anderson RBI single, and a Backe sac fly to make the final 9-3. Jason Young pitched a complete game, saving the bullpen. The Sluggers continue their East Coast road trip in Baltimore on the 15th, with Collins pitching.
