Honolulu Sluggers (66-24) @ Texas Rangers (43-47)

7-9-08-The Sluggers pulled out yet another victory against the Rangers today. It was a low scoring game, and the only runs came off of Pablo Gonzalez's 16th homer of the year, a 2 run homer in the 4th to seal the Sluggers win. Julio Pena pitched well, and Washington got the save. Our next game is in Seattle against the Mariners on the 10th, with Murphy scheduled to start. Then comes the much anticipated All-Star game, and a stat update!

Honolulu Sluggers (66-25) @ Seattle Mariners (41-50)

7-10-08-The Sluggers usually reliable bats took the day off today, as they only scored 1 run in a rare loss to the Mariners. The Mariners jumped out of the gates, scoring a run in the 1st on an Ibanez RBI single to make it 0-1. The Sluggers tied it in the 5th on a Jones solo homer, but the Mariners got that run back in the home half on a J.Lopez RBI single, and an Ichiro RBI single to put up the final score of 1-3. Our next game will be the All-Star game on the 15th, and Alex Gordon is starting at 2nd for the Sluggers. Pitchers haven't been announced yet.

National League All-Stars @ American League All-Stars
7-15-08-The American League All-Stars clinched home field advantage in the World Series today. They scored 2 runs in the 3rd on RBI singles by Jeter and D.Ortiz to make it 2-0. In the 4th, the American League got 2 solo homers by the Sluggers' very own Alex Gordon, and Manny Ramirez to make it 4-0. The National got on the board in the 5th, on a Carlos Lee solo homer to make it 4-1. The American League got that run back in the bottom of the 5th, on a suicide squeeze by Akinori Iwamura scoring Carlos Guillen to make it 5-1. The National League scored the last run in the 8th on a solo homer by Beltran. The Sluggers start their 2nd half of the season at home against the Athletics. Ryan Techer is pitching again, on the 17th. Some say that is too soon, but Techer says he is confident that his play will be the same. He threw 3 no-hit innings today.

Everyone happy with their players performance and such? I was planning to get this done before school started, which meant I wanted to get the All-Star game done before August came in real life. Anyway, I'm gonna try and pick up the action on here and post games more often. Hope you guys are still enjoying. Feel free to comment.

Well, I wouldn't say I enjoy Murphy's performance. But I'm loving this log still, it's pretty great.

Oakland Athletics (47-47) @ Honolulu Sluggers (69-25)
7-17-08-The Sluggers beat the Athletics today, scoring all of their runs in the 2nd inning. It got started early, as Techer gave up 4 hits right of the bat (pun intended), one of them an RBI single to Chavez, and another a RBI ground-out by Frank Thomas to make it 0-2. The Sluggers scored 7 in the 2nd though, on a Withey 2 RBI single, a Backe RBI single, and then a Grand Slam by Jones on a meatball, to make it 7-2. The A's got 1 more in the 3rd, on another RBI ground-out by Emil Brown to make the final score after only 3 innings. The pitchers settled down nicely, and Techer struck out 11 in 8 solid innings. Our next game is on the 21st, with Young pitching against Texas.

Texas Rangers (45-53) @ Honolulu Sluggers (72-26)

7-9-08-The Sluggers pulled out yet another high scoring win against the Rangers today. In the 1st, Preston Greene got an RBI double to put up the Sluggers 1-0. In the 4th, the Sluggers scored 6 runs, on a Backe 2 RBI single, a Stewart 2 RBI single, and RBI singles by Jones and Gonzalez to make it 7-0. In the 5th, Jay Stewart homered into the pool, a 3 run job, to make it 10-0. Then in the 6th, the Sluggers tacked on their last run, on a Withey RBI single. The Rangers scored 2 in the 9th, on a Laird solo homer, and a Hamilton RBI single, but Jason Young stopped them there, in his complete game win. Our next game is on the 25th with Collins pitching in Boston.
