GIANTS FALL 2-1 TO THE TWINS


Good performance put on by Ryan Sweeney, he's really impressing this preseason. Bonifacio and Bloomquist have both been disappointing, both are 0-6. Timpner went 0-2 with 2K, but did draw a walk.

Affeldt and Bard both gave up one run, but generally pitched well.

FRANDSEN TEARING UP SPRING

He's the first player to earn himself a spot on the Major league Roster.

In 3 games he is batting 1.00 with 1 Home Run and 8RBI with a stolen base.

Not quite. He's I believe 8-8. Which actually probably even better. It means for every AB he got an RBI.

Season Preview:

Bruce Bochy is back at the helm again for the '09 season and this time, they are ready for more than just an NLDS. They completly exceeded everybody's expectations and flew under the radar the whole year and almost won the NL West! Instead they settled for a wild card but were eliminated in 4 to the Mets. This year, expectations are very high for the Giants, some even predict that they'll win over 100 games, while others say they will win the World Series. There is some questions heading into the '09 season. Will the left field problem finally be solved by having a starter and a back-up? How will the Giants do without "The Unit"? Who will fill his shoes in the fifth spot in the rotation? How will Pablo Sandoval cope with playing first base? Will Inge play Centerfield while B.J plays third? Will B.J play Centerfield while Inge plays third? Or will they sometimes play third and sometimes play center? And the biggest question of all: Do the Giants believe that they can do it again? Do they believe they can make it to the World Series?

CAIN PITCHES A GEM IN OPENER

GIANTS 2 PADRES 0

The Giants weren't able to have a big inning, although a base loaded with 1 out happened in the 5th, but Peavy got out of the jam with a double play ball. Cain would have pitched the complete game but his pitch took a sharp increase in the 7th inning and 8th inning. The Giants weren't able to break the game open but good pitching helped them get the W.

WHERE'S THE BULLPEN WE USED TO KNOW?

The bullpen has been doing not so well as of now. They have given up two walk off hits and the other day, Brian Wilson, who was lights out last year and only blew one save (40-41) gave up a 3 run shot and blew the save!

Don't great job me. The game wouldn't let me pause so I couldn't intervene and my little Matt Cain did it all by himself.

The Bullpen isn't pitching, the only pitchers I'm letting pitch is Wilson, Hendrickson, and Affeldt, and maybe Howry. I already sent down Justin Miller.

STRUGGLES CONTINUE FOR THE GIANTS

Even at a comfortable 5-4, the Giants have struggled mightily in the middle of the line-up.

B.J is batting .105 with 1 RBI Yadier is batting .129 with 2RBI, Sandoval is batting .182 with 3 RBI Inge is batting .162 with 4 RBI. Randy Winn, Edgar Renteria, and (you'll never believe this) Ryan Sweeney, are carrying the team.

Winn: .395 1HR 6RBI
Renteria: .282 1HR 7RBI
Sweeney: .321 7RBI


Clete Thomas and Orlando Hudson are in the middle, neither carrying the team, nor struggling.
