I'd say try not to get anyone over 35 years old because their stats will be decreasing a lot unless it's just a 1 year deal.

Since you really kinda don't have a "solid" power hitter.....
I think that the most solid name up there is A. Dunn.....but he is kinda pricey...
And you could even maybe trade someone to get a R. Howard....cheap yet power...

i still would go for K-Rod. You need a solid closer, and he's not that expensive (only about 5000), and he just tied thigpen's record (just throwing that out there, no pun intended)

however, if your salary was only a couple thousand or less over, you could've gotten him, and still had positive points because of games and the playoffs and awards.

So what did you end up with at the end of F/A?

put him as the set-up man while you get k-rod. He'll get to pitch a lot and even a few saves, and you can group capps and k-rod in practice.
