Ring… Ring…

ERISA Dude: hello?

PGA: Good morning! Robert on behalf of the PGA here to speak with ERISA
Dude.

ERISA Dude: PGA? The golf guys?

PGA: Yes. Is this ERISA Dude?

ERISA Dude: yes

PGA: we are establishing a baseball team in Jacksonville and we'd like you to manage!

ERISA Dude: I'm not over the loss of the Iowa City Country team. I'm grateful to be here, but I feel guilty at the same time. Thanks anyway.

PGA: Yes, but the best way to deal with loss is to move on with your life.

ERISA Dude: well… I do remember my therapist mentioning something about that...Okay, when would I get to review scouting reports and select my players?

PGA: um… it's kind of a funny story. We actually had a Mr. P picked out and signed as GM. He put together the roster, played a few games – the whole exhibition season, actually. Then, he said he was bored and just wanted to work on creating players.

ERISA Dude: you mean, my team is already selected, I don't even have exhibition games to test my players, and I wasn't even your first choice?!?

PGA: well… you were busy with the Country, but you were our top choice from the start!

[BACKGROUND CONVERSATION OVERHEARD: Mr. PGA, remember, we also spoke with dishnetkid, but he was enjoying his summers in Vancouver and was also busy overseeing a website? We contacted Zero Gibson, out in Las Vegas, but decided against it when he asked if instead of paying his salary, we could pay off his bookies? And Philliesfan actually came down for an interview, but flew right back after lunch when he couldn't find a place that would put cheese whiz on his steak sandwich? There was even some guy – remember – during the interview, you you would ask him a question, and instead of talking to you, he would pull out a bag of skittles and talk the bag of skittles? Something like he was totally caught off guard and did not realize there was something wrong with talking to a bag of skittles? We had security escort him out! Then we met with PowerPros 27. He said we arranged our team all wrong and suggested we subscribe to his blog, "http://www.mlbppworld.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=8099"

PGA response in background: Susan, please! I'm trying to seal the deal here!

[BACK ON THE LINE] We understand it will take you some time to learn the players, but we think you'll be real happy with the team that's been put together, and you are welcome to go after some of the remaining unsigned free agents that are available.

ERISA Dude: Okay. So… We play in Jacksonville? How did you swing that – Florida already has two teams and the Rays seem to have trouble drawing a crowd?

PGA: we are the PGA – we can do anything! And we did have to negotiate with the Rays. As part of the deal, we will be in the AL East – the toughest division in all of baseball, while the Rays move to the Central division. There is another expansion team starting – the Dukes, but they will be in the West.

ERISA Dude: All right - you got your self a manager!

Good, funny update, good uniforms.

Paul McCartney15 is sad he wasn't even spoken to for the job but says "I didn't even want your stupid job anyway."

If he had to fit everyone into that conversation, he'd probably still be writing it.

I am confused as to whether Mr. P is a reference to me because that sounds like something I would do - stop doing a log before the season even started

Sorry to those who feel left out. I referenced the folks who came most easily to mind and who I could come up with a quick reason why they would not want to manage the team. With two exceptions: I absolutely had to include skittle monster because of his funny sign off, and I made sure To include power pros 27 since he did a blog specifically on making an arrange team and that's what I am doing (although I did not necessarily follow his instructions)

Agent P, The "Mr. P" is a reference to you, but when push came to shove, I could not quite be sure whether it was Agent P or Anthony P I wanted to poke fun at, so I went with Mr. P

Settings and rules

Settings

CPU batting and pitching: all star

    CPU fielding and baserunning: powerful

    Pitch speed: slow

Catch Mark and strike zone: on

Personal batting, pitching, baserunning, Fielding: normal

Rules (that I will try to impose on myself)

Graybar players can train on anything until age 30

Current players can train on anything until they have four years in the majors Or until age 30

Current players with four or more years, but who are less than 30 may not train on batting, run speed, pitch speed, or stamina

After completing the season in which they turn 30, players may not train anything except Ability training

Purple bar players on my team are treated the same as Graybar players

Purple bar players on the Dukes are treated as current players

Oh, I don't feel left out. It's not a big deal.

This log is gonna be great. :D

EDIT: Everything there looks great. Except pitch speed. It's your log, but if you get to a point in the season where you're dominating offensively, then I would suggest bumping it up to fast.
