Gotcha. Fielding is a weak part of my game, too. So frustrating when a line drive is hit to 3rd and I move my player, only to find out I moved him AWAY from the ball.

With rumors swirling about possible trades, the Arlington Star staff sat down for an interview with Rangers GM Jon Daniels.

STAR: Are the rumors true that you are looking to trade some players?

JD: We are always looking to improve our team through any means possible.

STAR: Are there any particular areas of interest?

JD: Dan Johnson and Josh Hamilton have struggled to start this season, so we are evaluating possible replacements. We are also looking at some relief pitchers.

STAR: Any notable players?

JD: Center fielder B.J. Upton is on our list, there are also some relievers of interest such as right-hander Heath Bell.

STAR: Does there appear to be any interest in any of the players on your trade block - Johnson, Hamilton, etc.?

JD: Both Dan and Josh have received considerable interest from many teams. Some of the players at Round Rock have been listed as tradeable assets and are getting some inquiries from teams looking to bolster their depth.

STAR: Anything peculiar that you have found thus far?

JD: I forget which team, but one club had no true first basemen and only one shortstop. We offered them Johnson for some minor-leaguers, and they gave the trades very low approval ratings.

STAR: Could these trades include adding salary to upgrade talent-wise?

JD: If we see a player who is worth his high price tag, we will look into a deal for him.

STAR: Thank you.

Before the game, the Rangers called up RHP Rich Thompson from AAA Round Rock and designated RHP Jesus Colome for assignment.

RHP Rich Thompson's control improved from a G-70 to a G-71!

A trade was made with the Cleveland Indians, sending RHP Jesus Colome and cash in order to acquire RHP Micah Owings. Owings was assigned to Round Rock, but is expected to be recalled as a long reliever in the near future.

Micah Owings is a dual-threat as a pitcher and hitter. You could use him as a starter and a pinch hitter off the bench. Good move.

I have a bad habit of dong that myself  Especially with my corner infielders.
