I just went in success mode to see how it works, but how do you check the names of those who aren't pitchers?

- switches to their name under Pitcher Data, but not under Score.

(I have the names of Sittch W and Jim Slow, but I can't seem to check batters)

Go to "Defensive/Fielder" on defense and "Pinch Hitter" on offense. That should do it.

So you can't find last names of players like Tom or Frank, or any captains in 07?

(I don't really get why they would try to hide the names they did come up with anyway)

That's the idea. Not sure why they would hide the names, but they must have reasons. Maybe they just want to make it simpler, so you can just refer to them by their first name. Easier to remember, I guess.

Exciting season opener at home ends in Successes 3-2 loss:

Willy Legend ran into some early problems, giving up two runs in the first two innings, and getting his first 1-2-3 inning in the fifth, Smoltz on the other hand, threw five perfect innings, giving up his first hit to Frank, which barely got past the second baseman. Willy Legend had the teams first RBI in the eighth inning, scoring Slow, who pinch ran for an injured Joey. After 8, Willy Legend stepped aside, moving to second base, Jonathan was already in the game as a pinch hitter, he was moved to pitcher, he gave up 1 run in two thirds of an inning, Zero then closed out the inning. In the 9th, Alvin was brought in as a pinch hitter, hitting a solo home run off the first pitch he saw in the major leagues. It was not enough though, as they lost 3-2, Smoltz took the win, Hampton got the save, and Willy Legend went away with a tough loss.

16-1 blowout leads to questioning about Successes competence:

Charlotte pitching has given up 8 home runs in last night’s game, including 4 in a row, and 3 to Howard, in the 16-1 blowout. Jonathan gave up 6 runs in 5 innings to take the loss, while Morgan gave up 10 runs in 3 innings; he gave up 6 home runs. Marvin scored the team’s only run, driven in by Frank in the 5th inning. Nationals fans are furious about how much of a joke the team that replaced them seems to be at this point. “They’re way worse than we were, no question about it.” “I could hit better than those guys with both hands and a leg tied behind my back.” “My grandmother could pitch better than those guys, and she’s dead.” are just a few of the derogatory comments being uttered regularly at this point. Manager William said with unbelievable confidence “It’s just a few early problems, things’ll pick up.”, he then walked away shaking his head.

I just found out I forgot to restore everybody before starting the season, so things'll get really messed up if I don't restart, I'll probably do some simming once I restart it, so things might work out like you can pretend those first two games happened.

Pittsburgh beats Charlotte 6-1 on the road:
The Pirates scored 5 runs off of Scott in the 1st inning, the Successes could not recover from that deficit, as their only offense came off of a Patrick Gainer solo home run, Walter pitched 5 innings of 1 run relief, Scott took the loss, his second of the year.

After the game:

Successes record: 12-17, 4th place.
Pirates record: 17-12, 1st place.

Pretty good team, considering that they're 12-16.

Successes lose extra-inning pitcher’s duel 5-1:

The Pirates scored a run in the third, the Successes would not answer until the 9th inning, when Jonathan, used as a pinch hitter, doubled in Morgan. Later, in the 13th inning, the Pirates managed to score 4 runs, a large factor being very poor defense, manager William later apologized that he forgot to substitute the right players in after using pinch hitters, as the field was mostly played by pitchers, with no experience at other positions. The loss was credited to Alvin, who gave up the 4 runs, Capps took the win for the Pirates.

After the game:
Successes: 12-18 record, 5th place.
Pirates: 18-12 record, 1st place.

Terry walks off with Successes 3-2 win:

The Pirates scored first, in the 4th inning, Charlotte would answer in the bottom of the 5th, and take the lead in the 7th, it would not last half an inning though as the Pirates tied it in the 8th, Willy pitched out of a couple jams to keep it tied. In the 9th inning, Terry stepped up to the plate, as he does several times every game, this time, however, he would get a hit, a big one as he got a weak breaking pitch, and hit it to some lucky fan standing around 440 feet from home plate, in the right field bleachers. Willy got the win, pitching a complete game, D.Marte took the loss. The way things are going, the Successes are happy to celebrate every win they can manage to get.

After the game:
Successes: 13-18, 4th place.
Pirates: 18-13, 1st place.

The Successes are not very successful thus far. Alvin is starting to get just a little concerned. Marvin wants to know how many steals, if any, he has.

Sittch is happy he can is helping the team. Robin believes he should get a little more playing time, especially with Alvin's recent struggles.
