We won the other two games against the Royals and are 1/2 game behind the Indians in the Central. I'll have a new update in an hour, maybe less.

Bonser Likely To Be Skipped

CHICAGO-Because of the off-day between the first two games of the three game set at Chicago, the Twins have announced that Boof Bonser (0-2) will likely be skipped over in his projected Game 3 start against Kansas City, barring injury or game-time decision. He has given up a combined 17 earned runs in his first two starts.

UPDATE:Livan Hernandez will not be able to go at game time. Bonser will start Game 3 against Kansas City.

Trade Rumors

So I'm thinking about making a deal with the Pirates. Here's how it would work:

PIRATES GET:

3B Nick Punto
2B/SS/3B Tomas Perez

TWINS GET:

C/RF/1B Ryan Doumit (This gives me a backup for Morneau)
SS/1B/2B Chris Gomez (Fielding substitute)
3B/CF Jose Bautista (He would backup as 3B)

It has four stars. Should I do it?

Go for it, Gomez can also play 3B with a D, I always try to trade Perez for him in my seasons. Doumit and Bautista can also be decent starters if needed.

Joe Mauer approves of having Doumit back him up rather than Redmond. Nathan also likes the added offensive support coming off the bench.

Rumors of the trade mentioned above continue to swirl. Neither the Twins nor the Pirates wish to comment.

Trade Rumors

MINNESOTA-The Pirates have reportedly rejected a trade with the Twins, which was rumored to send Punto and Perez to Pittsburgh in exchange for Doumit, Bautista and Gomez. Minnesota is still looking for a way to make the deal possible. Current rumors indicate that backup catcher Mike Redmond may be a part of a modified deal. Representatives from the Pirates and Twins have both declined comment.

wow, all the way down to 11.1.

Great job so far, Mauer is happy that his teammate is getting it together and was glad to have contributed to his success with that homer.

I think it was because Bonser had pitched so few innings in his first two starts, and then he puts up a QS in his third. Still, I couldn't believe it went THAT low, either.

Actually, I was just laughing at the fact that it DROPPED to something still so high.

Man, for a newbie in the forum you're doing a fantastic job.

Still, an ERA drop of 8.9 runs ain't bad, either.

And thanks. I figure, this is my ticket to a career in sports journalism. Or not.
