No way, players improve way too slowly in this game. Harden is never going to have good stamina.

CLEVELAND -- With Athletics really struggling so far this season, they have decided to send down Jack Hannahan who has only had four at bats so far this season, and are calling up Frank Thomas from Triple-A Sacramento. This move is to replace the struggling Daric Barton (.071, 3-42) at first. Thomas will be taking over as designated hitter, and current designated hitter Mike Sweeney will be taking the place of Daric Barton who is being moved to the bench.

CLEVELAND -- Just one day after calling up Frank Thomas, the Athletics have called up another veteran in Hideo Nomo. With the short rotation, the Athletics will use him to make starting appearances. They are sending down relief pitcher Santiago Casilla who is 0-1 with not very much playing time so far this season. More moves will be made in the future if the team continues to struggle the way it has.

CHICAGO -- For the first time this season, the Athletics have won consecutive games, winning the first two in a series against the White Sox in Chicago. This slight glimpse of success is due to recent call-up Frank Thomas, who has homered in both games so far. The Athletics pitching, for the most part, is doing very well so far will low ERAs up and down the pitching roster, but the offense needs to pick it up and get this team back on track.

April in Review
ANAHEIM -- The Oakland Athletics have started the season very shaky, with a record of 9-20, second worst only to the Twins who are 6-22. They also started the season with eight straight losses, The brightest part of this team currently is Frank Thomas who has six home runs and fifteen runs batted in to lead the team in both categories. Unfortunately, the highest batting average on the team is Ryan Sweeney with .226. If the Athletics want to improve, they're going to really have to turn it around in May and the months to come.

 Nice layout. And how did you remember the winning pitchers and losing pitchers of every game anyways?

I think the offense is an immense problem. I like your pitching though

What I'm doing is playing each game, then fast forwarding before anything happens in the game. Then I can get all the info I need from the game at the end.

I like the pitching, too. Alan Embree has really surprised me. His only pitches are a level one slider and level two 2-seamer, and he's doing very well from the set-up roll with a 2.52 ERA.

May Preview
ANAHEIM -- After a 9-20 record in April and March, the Athletics go into the month of May with the second worst record in the majors. In hopes of turning things around, they may need to make some roster changes, or even trades. The Athletics currently have the second best team ERA in the majors at 3.53, second to the Diamondbacks with 3.44, but they have the worst team batting average at .171, the next lowest being the Twins at .244. If the Athletics can somehow pull their offense together, and the pitching continues the way it has, they may be able to get back in the race while it's still early in the season.

Athletics Acquire Escobar from Braves
CLEVELAND -- The Oakland Athletics and Atlanta Braves have swapped shortstops. The Athletics are getting Yunel Escobar in exchange for Bobby Crosby and minor league pitcher Great Castro. Escobar is currently batting .273 with four home runs and nineteen runs driven in. While Escobar is only a slight upgrade from Crosby, this move is mainly a mere attempt at getting this team's offense back on track and supporting the great pitching.

Interleague Play Begins
ATLANTA -- Today is the beginning of interleague play across the majors. The Athletics will be starting their interleague games against the Atlanta Braves, which is a big deal, as the Athletics and Braves just traded shortstops only a few days ago. It will be interesting to see how each player does on their new teams against their former teams. And how will the Athletics play overall against the National League teams? They have really struggled so far as a team this year, and it will be interesting to see how they do against teams they do not normally get to play.

If you go into options, you can make it so that every game is Fast Forwarded without having to play it first.

OAKLAND -- The Yankees and Royals have made a trade of minor league players in which infielder Angel Sanchez is headed to New York in exchange for left-handed pitcher Sean Henn. It is unsure what either team plans to do with their newly acquired players who neither have any playing time this season so far.

OAKLAND -- Two trades have taken place today: A deal between the Phillies and Indians, and a trade between the Red Sox and the Diamondbacks. The Phillies have acquired first baseman Ryan Garko and outfielder Shin-Soo Choo in exchange for second baseman Brad Harman. The Red Sox have acquired catcher and first baseman Robby Hammock from the Diamondbacks in exchange for first baseman Great Lopez. All players involved in trades are now with their new clubs and ready to play when called upon.
