ISOTOPES ANNOUNCE LINEUP ON OPENING DAY

LINEUP:
1. Malik Upton, LF, ST NOTES: got his Power up to an E.
2. Mark Dirosa, CF, ST NOTES: Looks good, fast and a good fielder
3. Ryan Fields, C, ST NOTES: ROTY, Enough Said
4. Ryan Wright, 1B, ST NOTES: Not Much, same player as last year
5. Casey Blake, 3B, ST NOTES: Great 3B with power and fielding
6. Carson Palmer, DH, ST NOTES: Working on an F in contact
7. Eddie Alfaro, RF, ST NOTES: Stole the job late from Newhan
8. Mike Fontenot, SS, ST NOTES: Got his fielding numbers WAY up and power was already there.
9. Ben Sanhouse, 2B, ST NOTES: Stole the show from Erdos.

Pitchers: Brad Penny vs. Randy Johnson
Not much action until the 7th, when RJ's first strikout broke the MLB record. The Isotopes home crowd gave him a standing ovation. Penny also got a standing O after fanning 9 in 7 innings. A Malik Upton homer sealed a 3-1 W for the 'Topes.

ATHLETICS (5-2, second place) vs. ISOTOPES (3-4, fourth place)

Zack Duke (1-0) vs. Mike Stratton (0-1)
(I'm doing this in the format of my Rays log)
Bottom 2: Casey Blake hits first homer as an Isotope! 1-0
Top 3: Stratton gets out of bases loaded jam
Bottom 3: Mark Dirosa RBI single, scores Fontenot (who did a double steal, got other guy out) 2-0
Top 6: Pierzienski RBI single, 2-1
Top 8: Stratton comes out with 7 IP, 5 Ks, 1 ER, 0 BBs. Moehler comes in, strikes out side!
Top 9: Mohler closes it out 2-1 W!
