KINGS GET BRADEN LOOPER, DRAFT FIRST.
Early on the morning of the MLB Draft, the Cardinals accepted the Kings trade offer that sent outfielder Parker and relief pitcher Maxwell to the Cardinals and sent starting pitcher Braden Looper (C CTRL, B STAMINA).

MLB DRAFT
"With the first pick in the MLB Draft, the Memphis Kings select pitcher McRae"
It might have been a risk, but the Kings decided to take the pitcher with the first pick.
"Our pitching has been week all year." said Slick
With their second pick they took Basner, a first basemen.

KINGS MAKING LATE SEASON RUN, SWEEP CHIMPS!
The Kings played their first series in franchise history against the Rochester Chimps, and won 2-0 in the series. In Game 1, Pitcher Goodwin had a no-hitter through 4. The Kings also traded away backup catcher Padgett to Florida for Paul Hoover.

KINGS MAKE BIG STATEMENT WITH SWEEP ON THE ROAD!
The Kings started their AL west road trip in Texas and lost the series 2-1. Then they flew to Seattle to take on the Mariners at Safeco. They swept them in the first meeting of the two franchises. They are currently tied for first with the White Sux, I mean Sox. The series in the third week of September could determine the AL Central Champ.
