Nomar is getting old, Inge could even be your starter. Chase Inge he is worth it. Trade Ishikawa with like a AAA guy + a bit of cash and you might even get another player. Move Sandavol over to 1st, but he needs to improve his fielding. Nomar has "Star", so I think he wants a big contract or at least one with money. :)

Good point. But Nomar isn't that bad, He's asking for only 4.8K. I could just try to offer 4k.

Might work, try 3.8k. I got Tex for 5.8k, and he asked for 10k

Pirates have expressed their interest in signing Milton Bradley. Bradley has no comment for the Pirates said interest.

Is their compensation in this game? I've never known exactly.

Compensation? What's that?

It's when a free agent signs with another team, his original team gets a draft pick as compensation.
So if Carl Crawford signed with say the Tigers, then the Rays would get a compensatory draft pick from the Tigers.

DrMario, you didn't sign Adam Everett?!

You know, Compensation for the draft.

For example:

(this is all hypothetical)

The Angels RF Vladimir Guerrero declares for free agency. He then signed by the Marlins. The Angels now get compensation from the Marlins for signing Vlad. The compensation is either a first round draft pick, or a "sandwhich pick" from the compensation round (round between round 1/2). If they are a Type A free agent, you get a first round pick. If they are a type B free agent, they get a "sandwhich pick".

And no, I didn't sign Everett because he wasn't needed.

OK. Since there's no draft trading here in the game, It's probably not in the game.

Trade Talks are tight with the Tigers. They don't seem to mind what I'm asking for, it's just that they are asking for alot in return. I might have to use my ace in the hole... They are certainly asking for alot though. I didn't think it would be this hard.

Don't worry too much about utility players. After all you can just convert anybody to several different positions and he'll become a utility man.

SPRING TRAINING 2009

The Giants have traveled down to Arizona to train and play exhibition games in the Cactus league.

Some position battles include:

Second Base: Orlando Hudson, Kevin Frandsen, Emilio Bonificio, Jack Hannahan, Conor Gillaspie

I would look to Orlando Hudson to win the job, unless he has a very very poor spring. I'm thinking Gillaspie, Bonifacio and Fransen will battle it out for the back-up roles and 1st string AAA player (one that will be called up in case of injury, struggles). Hannahan is battling to stay on the team.

Third Base: Pablo Sandoval Willy Aybar Conor Gillaspie Emilio Bonifacio, Wes Helms

This is Sandovals job, it's his. Aybar Gillaspie Bonifacio and Helms are battling for the back-up role and 1st string AAA role.

Left Field (this is interesting): Brandon Fahey, Justin Ruggiano, Clay Timpner, Clete Thomas, Ryan Sweeney

No Clear cut winner here. It will certainly be a battle.

First Base: Travis Ishikawa (for now, he could be traded) Wes Helms, Valenzuela

Ishikawa could lose this job if Helms has a great spring camp. Valenzuela probably won't have a prayer.

Willie Bloomquist is battling it out for a spot on the opening day roster.

GIANTS ACQUIRE INGE IN A BLOCKBUSTER DEAL

Brandon Inge is moving from Detriot to San Francisco. He has not made any public comments.

The Tigers were asking for alot and in the end we gave them: Randy Johnson, Travis Ishikawa, Cosme, and 7500K.

Inge is expected to play either 3rd or Centerfield, it hasn't been made offcial which yet.
