Doumit is fine with that.

try trading some guys for Ryan Howard. He's one of the easiest people to steal.

Doumit would like to improve on his fielding.

Moss should have 12 Contact, 9 Power, 2 Trj, and High D Fielding Skills. :P

No I was saying that Moss got his power up to D, Doumit has C power right now

Ryan Howard wouldn't be realistic for this team

The Pirates took 3 out of 4 from the Cardinals as Zach Duke pitched great throwing 8 innings of 1 run ball and was taken out of the game after a 9th inning leadoff homerun by Pujols. Capps made it interesting allowing another run score but he was able to strike out pinch hitter Troy Glaus with 2 on to end it and give the Bucs a 4-2 win.

Pirates win 4-2

Matt Capps would like to know where he ranks among the MLB saves leaders.

Despite early homeruns for the Astros against Karstens, Ryan Doumit was a hero against Wandy Rodrgiuez. Down 4-2 in the 8th, Jones hit a sac fly to make it 4-3 astros and then Ryan Doumit hit a 2 run homerun to make it 5-4 Pirates and Capps would have a 1-2-3 ninth to save it against the NL central last place Astros. It was also Even Meek's first career win

Pirates win 5-4

Today shows why this was a game of inches on this June 8th sunday in baseball. In the 5th, Luis Rivas got an infield single on a very close play after a wild pitch to bring in the Pirates only run of the game in the 5th. Karstens when 5.1 strong innings with Yates, Hanrahan getting holds and assisting Capps with the save. The Pirates are having a good June after a bad May and have won 3 straight.

Pirates win 1-0

Rivas: 0-4, RBI
Karstens: 5.1 IP, 0 R, 8 K

Draft Day 2008

The Pirates held their draft today and selected a 3B and a P. It was considered a not so great draft for the Bucs though

Pirates 1st Round Pick
3B- R/R- Dransfeld
F Con
D pow
G run speed
E arm
F fielding
23 Yrs old

Round 2 pick
P- R/R- Febles
E control
C stamina
82 MPH
lvl 2 fork
Sidearm
19 years old

Because of such a duddish draft. The Pirates are trying to get 19 year old Luis Valezula from the Red Sox for 19000 points. Valezula is a 1st round pick of the red sox this year and is a shortstop.

Pirates get Valenzuela from Red Sox

The Pirates have done what they had to have done and have gotten SS Luis Valezuela from the Red Sox for 19000 points. Valenzuela will be in the teams future for next year very likely. He is 19 years old and is D con, F pow(83), D run, C arm, C fielder. He is know as a slick fielder with some hitting skills. This makes up for a bad draft.
