7/25 - Lincecum Comes Close to a 20 Strikeout Game
Tim Lincecum nearly made history today in just his second start in a Cubs uniform striking out seventeen Marlins over seven and two-thirds innings. He was taken out in the eighth due to elbow pain, and never got a chance to finish off the game and the two-hit shutout he had carried that far into the game.

7/26 - Hill Placed on 15-Day DL; Cubs Call Up Nomo
Cubs left handed starting pitcher Rich Hill has been placed on the 15-Day DL with elbow pains. Hill left today's game in the middle of the sixth inning, and was examined by a doctor. The Cubs have called up right handed pitcher Hideo Nomo to take the place of Hill while he is out.

So how did he nearly make history?

Actually in my opinion, the hardest "part of the cycle (eps. for a player like Soto) is the triple.

thats what i meant.
HR and triple out of the way early.
of course, I'm a double machine, so I have trouble getting a single sometimes.

that would be selfish though!
what if a double could win the game?

If a double could win the game, a single would advance the runners just as far. Besides, in a walk off situation, you'll only be credited with a single because, when the games over, nobody keeps score anymore.

what if the runner's on first? Then by the time he advances to second, the runner will be on his way to home, but not there unless the batter has a G run speed and the runner is Carl Crawford or Willy Taveras.

With Soto's 95 (E) power, I'd say the homer was the hardest part. When pitchers make the mistake of throwing a change-up or any pitch of the sort up and in the strike zone, you might as well forget about it, and that's what happened with Soto.

i hate hitting high pitches, actually.
I can hit anything from the high middle to the low part of the zone.
and yes, i also crush basically anything in the change up family. I can hit curveballs well too (except for kncb), and i hate hitting sliders. and shuutos.
