Anyone but Sherill. He is only adept at middle relif or maybe a set-up role. Plus I prefer a righty closer anyway.

Trade Rumors

Nothing too big, just bench help.

PHILLIES GET:

George Sherril ($395,000)

O'S GET:

Chris Coste (C, $390,000)

Success Rate: ***

Quiroz sucks, I don't want him to be Hernandez's backup. Quiroz can go sit the bench in AAA, I don't care. Sherril is worse than I think he should be. He would be a good mop-up man for the Phils, though. Good deal?

I'd let Sherril run a little longer in your pen and trade for another catching guy. If you wanted a better backup you could of grabbed Adam Melhuse in F/A at the beginning of the game.

Thanks! :D I just hate closers that blow wins for me though. Thats why I traded Gagne in the Brewers season.

I like Sherril as a lefty specialist, since he has vs Lefty 4.

Let Fernando be your closer, and train up his control.

I'm not sure of Great Thompson's stats, but he should make a good set-up man.

How good are Hernandez and Quiroz? How much do they cost? My favorite catchers are Ronny Paulino (Pirates) and CHRIS SNYDER (Diamondbacks). Paulino is a slightly better hitter, but Snyder has an A arm and is one of the best defensive catchers. They're both cheap too. I'd try to trade either Hernandez or Quiroz (whoever is more expensive) and a couple of AAA players for Snyder, and if that doesn't work, trade for Paulino.

After that, you'll want to get rid of the expensive Mora for somebody cheaper. With that, you'll have a fairly solid team, biggest weakness perhaps would be starting rotation.

Fernando will probably be my closer. Good idea to put Sherril as a sit. Lefty.

I don't think I'll be able to make a deal for any catcher better than Hernandez, and trading Mora would be…something to think about. I might trade Mora for a catcher and call somebody up to play third. I don't want to put Perez at third because he only plays that with a C.
