…which is exactly why he hits leadoff. He has a "B" contact and a "C" speed, but only 2 TRJ. I'm not having a guy with that skillset batting 6th or 7th, and that would really be the only other place to go, besides 9, and that effectively kills the point.

9 spot isn't such a bad idea. He could be like a double leadoff if you know what I mean. My All Star team tried that today and it worked farily well.

I played a game against the Royals, but it was mostly to get a feel for the harder settings I'm using. We won, but the next day…

Young Injures Elbow, Expected to Miss 5 Days

MINNESOTA—Delmon Young hurt his elbow and will probably miss 5 days. Chris Gomez will fill the spot left by his going to AAA.

Which makes the lineup...

O. Hudson
Holliday
Braun (Not in NL)
Teixera
Fielder
Byrnes
M. Cameron
Feliz
Mauer

Seems awkward to put Mauer AFTER Feliz... not the best idea in theory, but in practice it may work.

No, I think it's fine the way it is. Perhaps swap Mauer and Byrnes.

Joe Mauer doesn't appreciate batting ninth, as he feels his on-base skills are much more valuable as he gets closer to the top of the order.
A switch with Byrnes would make him happy enough, though.

Nathan, on the other hand, is pleased with his slight raise, and is ready to go for this season.

If the now-popular idea carries out, it would go...

O. Hudson
Holliday
Braun (Not in NL)
Teixera
Fielder
Mauer
M. Cameron
Feliz
Byrnes

Right? THAT looks much better.

Right? THAT looks much better.

Fielder and Sheets agree it looks better, but they also think Byrnes should at the very least be above Feliz. Byrnes has more pop than you think and will be better in the 8 or even the 7 spot.

Ryan Braun likes the fact that his owner and GM are committed to winning and they have shown that by picking up many new acquisitions. However, there is too much chaos in the clubhouse and he feels the manager is being pressured by his players to do things with the roster when ultimately this should be left up to the manager. He says the roster stability here is Minnesota is very weak and he is uncomfortable not knowing his future. He seems unlikely to sign a long term extension unless this organization starts getting run better.

Also, Brendan Harris is dissappointed that he has been relegated to bench duty after a solid season last year. He feels he has done nothing wrong to justify getting benched.

I still think the lineup is best with Mauer at the top of the order. He might not be the very fastest leadoff man, but he'll get on base, which is the most important thing.

Or you could trade Holliday for Carl Crawford...
