I've started logs before (Marlins and Giants) and they didn't hold my interest long enough for me to finish a month, let alone a whole year.

I'll start this tomorrow!

March 31, 2008 - Milwaukee Brewers (0-0) @ Chicago Cubs (0-0)
Ben Sheets (0-0, 0.00) vs. Carlos Zambrano (0-0, 0.00)

CHICAGO -- The first two innings of the ballgame breezed by just as any other would for Ben Sheets. In the bottom of the third, though, Sheets served up a two-run home run to Cubs first baseman Derrek Lee. Sheets left in the fourth inning (after giving up three more runs) with elbow pains. Carlos Zambrano pitched masterfully until there were two outs in the ninth inning, which is when Ryan Dempster got Corey Hart to ground out to second base for the final out of the game.

Final Score: Cubs 6, Brewers 0

Game Notes
1 - Prince Fielder and Corey Hart both enjoyed a multi-hit opening day. Fielder went 2-for-4 while Hart had three hits in four at-bats.

2 - Craig Counsell pinch-hit for David Riske in the seventh inning. He then pitched one third of an inning in relief, inducing a ground-out to short stop off the bat of Felix Pie.

------------

I forgot to write down the pitching stats so I apologize that they weren't included. I'll get them for next time.

April 2, 2008 - Milwaukee Brewers (0-1) @ Chicago Cubs (1-0)
Jeff Suppan (0-0, 0.00) vs. Ted Lilly (0-0, 0.00)

CHICAGO -- The Milwaukee offense was finally able to put a run on the board as Rickie Weeks cracked a solo home run to lead-off the third inning. With the score tied at one in the third inning, Ryan Braun launched a 495-foot whallop over the bleachers in left field, putting the Brewers up 2-1. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Aramis Ramirez pulled a 2-run double into left field to give the Cubs a 3-2 lead. With two outs in the seventh inning, Braun cranked his second homer of the game -- this time a 2-run shot -- to put the Brewers back up by one. Eric Gagne came on to pitch with one out in the eighth inning. He faced the bottom of the Cubs order but had two speedsters on second and third. The first batter to hit against him grounded out to third base, and the second batter, pinch-hitter Daryle Ward, struck out. The game went to the bottom of the ninth inning tied at four when Henry Blanco poked a walk-off single to right field.

After the game, right fielder Corey Hart had this to say about Chicago: "I dunno... what can I tell you... it just stinks that we have to play these guys fourteen more times."

April 4, 2008 - San Francisco Giants (2-1) @ Milwaukee Brewers (0-3)
Chris Capuano (0-0, 0.00) vs. Noah Lowry (0-0, 0.00)

MILWAUKEE -- It seemed as though the Brewers would grab their first win of the year in game one of this three-game series. Ryan Braun hit a 2-run single in the third inning to give the Brew Crew a 2-0 lead. Starting pitcher Chris Capuano was dealing his way though seven shutout innings. When the eighth inning rolled around, he hit a road block by surrendering back-to-back home runs to Randy Winn and Aaron Rowand. Those taters spelled the end of Capuano's night, and started what turned out to be a long slate of work for the Milwaukee bullpen. They did a pretty good job of holding down the Giants offense - until Ray Durham hit a go-ahead home run in the sixteenth inning. San Francisco closer Kevin Correia nailed down his second save of the year as the Brewers took their fourth straight loss of the season.

Final Score: Giants 3, Brewers 2 - 16 Innings

San Francisco
Lowry | 8 IP | 9 H | 1 SO | 0 BB | 2 R |
Chulk | 2 IP | 0 H | 0 SO | 0 BB | 0 R |

Walker (W, 1-0) | 2 IP | 0 H | 0 SO | 0 BB | 0 R |
Correia (S, 2) | 1 IP | 1 H | 0 SO | 0 BB | 0 R |

Aaron Rowand | 2-7 | HR (1) |
