Proof you can pick up a cold zone during Success Mode:

Image

After loading the Scout meter during the first two games, I spent the rest of Success Mode swinging at every pitch. I picked up the cold zone following one of the Yr 2 games. Also, it's purple - aren't the cold zones blue when you edit them manually?

Is it purple during the actual games?

I will check tonight, but I'm pretty sure it is.

Well, this is an incredible discovery!

Has anybody tested the Level 9 theory yet?

It's not really a "discovery". Rob has known how to do it for a while, but they're just really hard to get and typically not worth it

And not that I know of

Level 9 theory?

Is that the theory where you do a particular level and you can get abilities like; safe pitch, fastball life, power hitter, contact hitter?

Yes you're right Rob

Yeah. It's the theory that if you get a certain practice to Level 9, you get a certain ability. Example: Strength Level 9 = Power Hitter.

I can test it if you want.

Boy, if that's true consider me very curious.

We all knew Level 9 power training could give power hitter. But then I found out that level 9 breaking ball practice could give Spin 4, and wondered if it could be a pattern

Sounds like a pattern to me. We can probably guess what most of them are/would be, and if weight training for pitchers provides Power P (doubtful), that would solve one of the bigger riddles. My best guess for each:

Weight - Power HTR
Batting - Contact HTR
Run Speed - Base Running 4 (Stealing 4)
Fielding - Gold Glove
Arm Strength - Throwing 4 (Cannon Arm)

Weight - ???
Top Speed - Fastball Life
Accuracy - Gd Low P (Safe Pitch)
Fielding - Gd Reflexes
Breaking Ball - Spin
