I've found that if I want a breaking ball like a knuckleball or vertical slider it is much better to choose a cheap pitch like the changeup then after it's maxed out choose what pitch I want to switch to. That way I won't need to spend as many exp points.

Liam does that. I haven't done the math, but it seems like it would either be about the same price, or a little bit cheaper. Unless you plan to S/L for pitches (that's what I do), in which case that strategy is a waste of time

Well if you think about it, Skittles, would you rather s/l for half an hour to get a 20% gamble, or would you go for the 30% gamble, It is common sense

Anyway Shuuto I did this with this guy and I got 2 maxed out breaking balls viewtopic.php?f=7&t=7045, and this guy viewtopic.php?f=7&t=7043

Not really. 8 gambles at 30% will probably take longer than 7 at 20%. Not to mention that way takes up more points that can be used towards building control

Yeah, 8 gambles at 30% would take longer than 7 at 20%, because that would be one more gamble than 7. It would take the same amount of time if it was 7 for both. S/L isn't that much of a waste of time.

Also, control, at some points, is useless.

Whatever, but a lot of people say control is useless, if you want to play the games yourself, which I plan to do, control is basically for the computer

EDIT: sorry dish I didn't see you posted about control

No, no, no, I was defending S/L techniques, not bashing them.

What do you mean I wasn't saying you were, I was saying whatever to Skittles comment

I use the technique but for different reasons from time to time. Particularly if a real pitcher has a crappy pitch like a hard sinker as a second pitch and no others. If you go for a screwball which I don't know whether it costs more points or not but it is easier to get through success with a screwball than a hard sinker or sinker

I have a feeling that most pitches in this game are useless except the knuckleball and the original pitch. I made a guy with a straight change and he always got hit in success mode.

Any V-SLD, like I said, is quite dominant.

Same here, a knuckler is the best K pitch for me, whereas something like a change or palm usually ends up being a ground ball out.

Try hitting it.

Or using it against the CPU.

Expert difficulty or above.

It's practically impossible.
