![]() ![]() ![]() Now that we've got that out of the way, let's talk. I've gotten Dr.Goodjob about 7-8 times. My first 4-5 were all successes, and I thought Goodjob was great. My last 3 though, have all been failed. Now I wish that there was an option that said, "Take the points and skill boosts, and shoot the man." But this isn't GTA Baseball. Are there any ways to guarantee a success with him, and anything to help make him show up? He is the man I love to see show up, but then get mad at. It's like a bad date. I've also never had a success on a pitcher. Are fielders more likely to get a success? And don't tell me to turn him down, because that's like turning down a trampoline. It might work out well, but it might not. Well I'm an optimist. And I'm pi$$ed off. He just screwed up Murphy for me.(thanks!) That's why I'm writing this. |

I don't think there is any way to "trigger" his arrival or guarantee a successful operation, unfortunately. If you got 4-5 straight successful operations, you're one of the lucky ones. I've only gotten a successful operation two or three times of all the success players I've ever made. I know it sucks whenever the operation fails, but you just have to expect it to fail, or else you will be very disappointed a lot. You can also do what I do and save after every single week. That way, if the operation fails, you can just exit without saving and you don't lose anything. |

Doesn't it take a long time to save and exit then just go right back in? |

Nah, it's not so bad. Plus it's worth it if you want a good player. Whenever I made a maxed out player, I would reload like crazy for everything, and save and reload once I got what I wanted and saved after every week. |

Wow. Doesn't that take FOREVER? I'm not very patient. Doing one practice or random event then saving and exiting just to come back in. |

Back when I was making S/L player logs for maxed out players, I found certain dates when DGJ was more likely to show up but they probably just coincided with dates that typically produced a random event. Nothing you can do to make him appear or guarantee success, however. If you are worried about DGJ trashing your player, choose one of the mild options. |

I dunno if this helps, or if I'm really lucky. I've seen him, about 6 times, and failed once. I don't sign his waiver every time. |

He doesn't do the operation if you don't sign the waiver does he? The wiki says that for pitchers, if you don't sign, nothing happens. |

He does do another type of operation if you don't sign the waiver, which is what I do every time. |

Well, it says what it can do for Fielders, but not for pitchers... http://mlbppworld.com/wiki/index.php?title=Dr._Goodjob_Events_2008 |

I'm pretty sure that in the '07 version, it was widely accepted that haing a low vitality greatly increased your odds of triggering the initial meeting in the park. As for the '08 version, I'd assume the same would apply. |

My first successful fielder, ZackAttack, got his good stats mainly due to a successful signed Dr. Goodjob. However, since then I have never had a successful Goodjob. If you want a successful player, saving, exiting, and reloading is definitely the way to go. It definitely requires patience, especially when trying to get that Gambler's Ring out of a Surprise Bag or gambling for a special ability with 5% success rate, but it is completely worth it.
