Is there a certain way, or secret to pitching in success mode? Because, I just can't do it. I start out fine, then get to the fourth or fifth inning and give up like three runs, and at the end of the game get no evaluation points. This is why I rarely make pitchers, and why I'm not good at making pitchers. I cannot get evaluation points at all and end up not playing at all in the second year.

As long as your player isn't huffing and puffing, pitching in the 4th or 5th should be no different than pitching in the 1st or 2nd. Start your pitcher with a good breaking pitch and boost Stamina until you can throw a complete game. More innings pitched = more experience points. There are only two tricks to pitching in Success Mode:

1) Buy the Psychic Goggles.
2) Throw fastballs at the upper corners and breaking balls at the lower corners and never deviate from this plan.

How much are the Psychic Goggles? I got them once in 2007 success mode, and I won the final game against the All-Stars with them. :P

Start of the game: BB
Near middle: FB

When opponent bunts, throw BB up in the zone and hope it breaks down. CPU will let it go and it would be a strike.

My experience sys to throw a SLD when people bunt, or the fastball.

I always throw a breaking pitch (KNCB, KN, V-SLD) when they're trying to bunt, and I aim it outside of the strike zone so that they pull back, but it breaks down enough to be a strike.

Thanks. I'll give that a shot. It's so freaking annoying that they ALWAYS attempt to bunt if there's someone on and there's less than two outs. And half the time, the batter who laid down the bunt beats the throw to first.

Against the Mach Sox or something, basically the really fast running team. If you have good pickoff, keep trying to pick them off and eventually you would get it. Works the same for Jonathan.

When the batter shows bunt, hit *start* to pause the game over and over and over again until the player decides not to bunt. This is also a good way to get 4-seamers and changeups when batting.

Oh my freaking gosh! Those psychic goggles are the best thing ever! I just pitched a complete game shutout against the Wild Jokers, I controlled 3 1/3 of that shutout getting ever single batter I faced out, and all but one of the ten batters I faced struck out.

What do the psychic goggles do?

Post subject:  Re: Pitching

It tells you what the batter's thinking(as a pithcer) , so if they have a fastball over their head, then throw them a breaking ball and it usually works but sometimes the goggles are wrong

If you're a batter then the pitcher will have the word fastball or breaking ball all over their head, usually that means they're gonna throw that pitch

They don't work EVERY time but they are very efficient

Actually, if you're a hitter it will say the type of pitch the pitcher might throw. It can be wrong, though.
