Hello everyone,

Like many of you I enjoy making Success Mode players. Many of these created players have been used for My Life mode. Now I have always wondered: "Since most of these players are maxed out in stats and abilities, what fielding position would make the most out of their potential?". So what do you guys think?

Besides a pitcher, what fielding position could make the biggest difference in a game, defensively speaking?

I would say catcher since they can put a complete halt o the running game ith a maxed arm and if they have the catcher-specific abilities they help even more.

I say either shortstop or center field, since the range would make a huge difference (at catcher, range isn't a big issue). I chose center field since infield errors are not too bad, but outfield errors usually have big consequences.

Great points, guys. I would have to agree with Lance though. I mean, having one player improve the effectiveness of your team's entire pitching staff is HUGE. That and the ability to eliminate the possibility of stolen bases by the opposing team.

well, I'm assuming that the players don't have specific abilities. Stats-wise, a maxed out defensive CF will be making more of their skills than a maxed out defensive C. But, of course, with Trash Talk, Great Catcher, and those abilities, catchers will be more effective.

Okay. Well, let's assume that your player has access to all abilities they can possibly acquire in Success Mode, for the sake of this question. I.E. Center Fielder with Cannon Arm and Spider Catch....Catcher with Great Catcher and Trash Talk....Shortstop with Pivot Man....etc

It's close but I'd still go with Catcher. Cehterfield was my next pick though. Then SS.

Honestly, the perfect player will be able to play all positions, thus, the Utility guy, where you can put him in where he is needed the most, whether it be behind the dish, or playing out by the wall, if he can play all of them, he's the perfect player. Other then that, 1 player cannot make a significant difference in just one position, for some teams are built differently then othhers.

My case is this, with a fast running, good base stealing team, you'd want him behind the plate. A team that hits many bloopers or even bombs, in center I'd say, and for a team that likes to play base-by0base, anywhere in the middle infield. So as long as he can play any or all of those positions, he will be the perfect player (period).

The Catcher can help your ENTIRE pitching staff improve. I don't see how you can get much better than that.

How can 1 catcher help an entire pitching staff improve? I don't see how that can happen. In terms of catching the ball, I guess it could help with the trash talk and stuff, but other then that, not so much. I mean, like I said, if he can play every position, or at least play C, INF AND OF, then he's the perfect player. As long as it's at least 1 from INF and OF, he's great.

catchers may help pitching a little, but a shortstop helps make pitchers' best friends, the dp. Imagine your perfect shortstop making highlight reel plays every inning and saving your pitcher about 1-5 runs per game. Plus, theres not a lot of good offensive shortstops in the majors.

Rollins? Formally A-Rod.

Rollins is struggling right now, Reyes isnt doing any better. Hanley's been hitting okay, but he's not playing at his full potential.
