My daughter is 5 years old. She can play the pitching but has trouble hitting in success mode. Here is what she does. She totally trusts the psychic goggles. She throws the opposite of what they say they are thinking (they want fastball she throws something else...). SHe does not care about location and actually will walk a few batters trying to get them to chase. If I have a character with more then 1 breaking pitch she will continue to mix up the breaking pitches. If I have 5 breaking pitches she will throw all 5 regardless of level of pitch. She never keeps the same order but will not throw the same one until she has thrown all of the breaking pitches. Occasionally, she likes the way a pitch is working and will stick with it until they make contact with it but usually she sticks to the above formula. She does not strike out as many as me but she also does not give up alot of hits. They seem to be confused by her and always ground out or lazy fly. I get a K or they smash it. I think she does so well due to location. I have habits for my location and the game seems to catch on (maybe I just believe this but seems to make sense based on her success) where she will continue to mix it up. So all the people I hear having trouble with the pitching try her style you may not get alot of K's but the also won't score and get very few hits. |

The funny part is that she figured out her strategy mostly on her own. She asked me what they were saying and I told her that they want a fastball when it says fastball and if you throw a fastball they will hit it and when it says breaking ball they want a breaking ball so that is when you throw the fastball. The rest she figured out on her own. I must say that she is at about 60 hours or more of play. She plays a season team that I created for her and I go in every once and a while and make some changes. On that team everything is auto except the pitching. So she had an idea of what works before she ever saw the season mode with the psychic goggles. I am contemplating letting her finish the character I started on the other post about making a great pitcher from a standard start. I probably will let her pitch while I hit and if it turns out bad then we will try again. Just goes to show us that we might be over thinking this game. |

Hmm. I use that strategy mostly, except that I use a fastball more, and that I don't always use a different breaking ball on every pitch. And boy, do I mix up the location a lot. And yes, opposing batters keep grounding out softly, and I've only allowed like 10 hits in I think 30 innings or something, but somehow I am still able to get a strikeout an inning. well I finished the character and in the final game she went hitless for the first 5 1/3 and ended up 9 innings , 10k and 4 hits (all little bloopers up the middle, unfortunately three in a row to get 1 earned run. I hit 3 homeruns with my pitcher (2 off Stitch- he was yellow motivation so his stuff was not that good). |

It's easy as long as you've got different breaking balls locations really doesn't matter to me, but b.ball does and I usually use either SCB or SPLT as a finisher i still managed to get an Average of 20's Ks and it doesn't matter of how much I've played Your daughter's method is good though, and say congratulations to her for me |

In season mode I generally get about 10 K's on a good day. Almost all hits I give up are line drives up the middle. |

I hate those line drives up the middle. You get him on the ropes with 2 strikes and then he just flips a hit up the middle. |
