Every time I try it, I get ahead Marvin usually ends up with 2-3 hits, my guy hits 1-2 HR and Terry hits 1 as well, but isn't Joey the most useless player of all time?

I have tried three times now, and in three games, Joey has 13 errors, Marvin 2, Terry 2, and the catcher 1. About 50% of the time, Marvin tries to steal, and 100% of his attempts result in an out.

The game is obviously easier on Stiitch's pitching then your own. (had a ball touching 1 edge of the zone but 99% of the ball was on the inside and it's called a strike, Stiitch hits 99% outside and it's a strike)

Their batters swing at ANYTHING over the plate, oh and your starting pitcher has 2 pitches!!!! How the hell do you guys do it!!!

I'm getting frustrated over being able to at least hit off of Stitch but then have my defense give up 6-7 runs in innings 8-9.

Any help would be muchly appreciated!

use psychic goggles. They help tell what pitch Stitch throws and they help tell what pitch the batter expects you to throw. For pitching try to keep it low in the zone. Even if they make errors it is better then them hitting a double or homer.

You have to practice in exibition mode. Try powerful there cause that is what level they are using.

1. Adjust the starting lineup and batting order to get your best and speediest defenders on the field. I’m talking about the generic guys. They all suck at hitting (F or E) so get the players with good range on the field. The slightly better hitters can be deployed as pinch-hitters for tired pitchers or for key situations when you get a runner in scoring position and a have a complete turd coming to the plate.

2. When you are facing a AAA pitcher like Sittch, the shadow of the ball moves to one area of the hitter’s box and then moves to another area before the pitcher releases the ball. The pitch is almost always thrown to a location somewhere between those two spots, and more often than not, the pitch will be thrown to a very confined area around the first spot. Move the curser to that area before the ball is released and you essentially shrink your plate coverage by 80%.

3. When the batter you are facing moves his bat curser before you pitch, throw to the exact opposite side and/or corner of the plate. For example, if the hitter moves the curser just a tad up and in, throw something at the corner down and away. If he moves the curser down and away, throw high and tight.

4. A change-up that starts high and out of the strikezone but drops in for a strike (or ball) on the inside or outside corner is the most dependable strikeout pitch in the game. Start each hitter by working the bottom corners with fastballs, sliders and curves. Go high with one of those pitches if you need to, but keeping the ball low will induce more groundballs and foul balls when the hitters make contact. Change pitch type and/or location on almost every pitch, but don’t fall into a pattern. Once you get two strikes, throw the aforementioned high change using Tip #3 (above) to dictate the location.

5. Be patient and wear Sittch down. If you swing only at mistake pitches with every hitter until you get two strikes, you can have Sittch tired and gone by the 6th or 7th inning. Once that happens, the rest is gravy.

Eric knows what he's talking about. I've only lost this game twice mainly because of #5. Sittch will get tired after about 40-45 pitches. Do everything you can to work the pitch count. Fouling off those close pitches is an art that can really help you. If you're going to swing early in the count, only swing at pitches up in the strike zone you know you can easily turn into line drives. Once you've got runners on against Sittch, his pitches are easier to pinpoint and you may be able to score in bunches.

As far as pitching, The only one you should be really cautious with is Sittch. If you can keep him quiet, the rest of the lineup wont be nearly as potent. Low in the zone really helps keep him in the park. The Psychic Goggles work wonders. They may not always be right but you should be able to keep them off balance with them.

If I don't have goggles, I just try this strategy...fastball down the middle every pitch. In my experience, they'll more often than not ground out softly or pop it up. If they score a couple of runs, it's no big deal. You can score 2 or 3 runs in an inning easily once Sittch is out of the game.

Heehee, found this out a while ago:
You must have Psychic Goggles.
If you don't like the pitch Sittch is throwing, just pause and unpause, and it should change. you can keep doing it too, but quickly.
however, the psychic goggles' accuracy won't increase or decrease, so be careful.
Otherwise, what I do is put on big swing until two strikes (only swinging at very good pitches), then switch to contact hitting w/ 2 strikes and keep fouling off pitches. That's if you can't beat him, like me. He'll usually leave around the 6th-7th inning with this method.

Well. I never go for homeruns or even try the power swing. I only use normal swing, and I get about 15 hits per game. But I only gets about 5-7 runs because I usually chock with bases-loaded. Use rookie’s charm. I always need that. Everytime I win, around 9-10, I used that.. and the times I lose. I always screw up on fielding.
With stitich pitching. The best way is to move the bat between the first spot and the second spot.(More towards the second spot) so you can either pull or push the ball instead of hitting to the centerfielder.
If you are a batter. Change him to bat 3rd.

I find that the key is figuring out how to knock stitch out of the game. Look at his motivation meter. This will tell how much his stuff will break. When he is fully motivated it breaks more. I find the key is patient hitting with everyone except Terry. With most players I slap the ball to the opposite field. For TErry I try to pull a home Run and if I am using a hitter for my success player I go for a home run as well. I find the CHG his easiest to hit out (pull the change as close to the line as possible. Even one of my pitchers hit two home runs (1 off Stitch and 1 off the next pitcher). With all other players be patient, don't chase strikes and try to run the pitch count (fould off pitches). When he gives you the pitch the goggles say you should be able to hit it at least to the opposite field. The key is understanding how he pitches.
1. learn the movement of his pitches and how they different under different motivation level.
2. Be patient especially with the poor hitters. Don't chase balls.
3. Only try power with Terry or a success player. THe best way to score with the rest is slap hits.
4. Understand how powerful mode pitches. In the final game the pitching is done differently. Up to this point the pitch is always aimed between the 2 points were he pauses (or close to). Until a batter gets on base it still pitches like that. Once someone gets on then it changes. You have to ignore the aiming points he shows as he could pitch it anywhere.
5. If really having trouble reload the game until you get one where his motivation is higher. This makes his speed slower and not break as much.

Also about POWER hitter. I use this with Terry adn my success players as almost all of them (even pitchers) have at least D power which is enough to send one out.

Terry is not that effective if you are going to rely on him for homeruns. Sittch has intimidator, so it is harder to hit home runs. Try clutch hitting. If you get singles it will be easy to score. Even the pitcher can get a rbi im serious. Actually, you can score runs against sittch. Dont hit his fastball. It is near impossible to hit. Go for his change up/cutter. They are not that good. (lvl 4,3) E.g. Hit his changeup when it is up in the zone, or his cutter if you are a lefty when it breaks in. If your righty, make sure you dont get jammed. His hardly uses his slurve. So, if you plan to hit in, wait for it to break into the middle. Usually, pitches that go into the middle are easy to hit. High pitches would result in a flyout and low pitches result in a ground out. Note that their fielding is decent and can turn in double plays.

I have found that purposely throwing the pitch down the middle (or close to it), is a good way to get the opposing hitter to hit into a ground out which prevents the GS from scoring very many runs. I usually give up one or two runs to the GS doing this, so I just make sure I score at least three, four, or five runs and I usually win.

I partially agree with Me and Lucy that Terry is not always great for home runs. However, when I use him I sit on the change up until I have 2 strikes and then I hit with contact. The only reason I say partially is that if I get the CHG I hit a double, triple or home run with him almost everytime. THe key for me is that I have learned how much the change drops over the different motivation levles. Once you get that down you can mash it. Just remember to not get caught chasing it out of the zone or too low. If you are patient, I get a hittable change almost every at bat with Terry. I just wait for that pitch and then crush it. The intimidator I find has just as much impact on contact as power. The zone shrinks which means it is also harder to get hits with contact swing. So using the power swing early in the count and waiting for a certain pitch is a very usefull strategy as if the pitch does not come you don't swing and he throws more pitches and will leave the game earlier. Also, when you get to 2 strikes you switch to contact and still have a chance for a basic hit. If you get good at fouling pitches off you can make each at bat cost him many pitches. I usually have him gone by the 4th or 5th inning (that is when I am playing with a pitcher). I almost always have him gone by the 4th when I am playing with a hitter.

Terry is like the Brad of 07; sometimes he'll get the big hit, or he'll get the flyout.
I prefer more reliable hitters like Mark; not sure comparison on 08.
Joey=Robin on 07. Keep Joey on contact.
Better to leave all on contact unless C+ power. Heh.
Psy goggles are pwn.
and uh yeah wear sittch down. if you must, walk him.

I score almost all of my runs vs. the GS with 4-5 singles in a row.

I just got 08 for xmas and yesterday with my first player(closer) I lost 2-1 without the goggles. Joey went 3-3 and Terry was 1-3 i think with an RBI double. I didn't upgrade my pitchers hitting and he got a hit, Marvin also got 1 hit and everyone else lines out to third, but the stupid leadoff guy for the Gs keeps killing me he had a Run and an RBI. Sittch got one hit the leadoff guy got 3and the guy before Sittch had 2 as well as the guy before the leadoff man.
