I'm making a new pitcher, wondering what breaking pitches to teach him.
Max: 3 pitches.

Having an original pitch would be good

SCB or DCB seem to really mess up the computer.
CCHG, PALM or Knuckball as the second.
SNk HSNK for the third.

All pitches break down so fastball is only one that stays up. I find this way if they are sitting on a breaking pitch they will swing under the fastball. In this format avoid sld as they will then adjust for your fastball. If they guess breaking ball then they still have to fuess which one and as they are swinging lower you will probably get a ground ball.

I like the KN and the DCB. Horizontal pitches always get rocked for me.

If you do an ORIG, I have some cool name ideas! PM me if you want them.

Well, sideways pitches are out for me because the break is very common among all of the pitches in that category. And they should be some uncommon pitches, so CHG, CB, SC, etc. are out. So, I'd say DCB, or maybe a faster CB, or both (that's 1&2). The third could be a vertical pitch, like a PALM, CCHG, or FORK. That's just my two cents, so whatever you think is right, Sjax, is right for this.

A good breaking slider/hard slider/cutter depends on what you like. A off speed pitch like SCB and DCB to get ahead in the count and a changeup to get the strikeout.

you know, an interesting Original pitch to make would be a sinking fastball with changup upgrade (and gd delivery), so that it would look exactly like a fastball out of the hand but would slow down like a changeup. Basically, a changeup in a different direction.

As for breaking pitches in general, I like to have one horizontal, one diagonal, and one vertical, so that I can use one whenever I need it. Generally, the best direction to have 2 pitches is down, because there are so many interesting pitches in that direction (forkball, palmball, circle change, V-slider, knuckler, fosh, etc.)

He's right. The ORIG would be awesome, especially with Gd Delivery. Also, the breaking pitches should be 2 vertical, I guess. Main pitch is a somewhat-generic one, like a CHG, CCHG, PALM, or FORK. The other one should be a KN or a V-SLD. This is just my opinion, but that is what I would do.

about the original pitch, you could call it CHG and have a real CHG and completely discombobulate your friends! (do you know what discombobulate means?)

KN is a good 2nd pitch, one to use as a surprise pitch. SPLT and VSLD are also good surprise pitches: throw a fastball, then throw a SPLT and the batter will be swinging over it.

HELLO! That would screw with your friends so much :bigthumb:

Screwing with friends is easy with Original pitches. Just make an original pitch, and call it an ordinary pitch. (Make sure it's in all CAPS too!)

lvl 7 Knuckleball+spin 4+Dr.K+Decent Stamina=perfect game. yay i did math. I think knuckleball is a good 2nd pitch. My strikeout pitch is the changeup gets the com swiging.
