4 hours into first ever genius character without a lot of s/l. Nothing to compare to so just wondering how am I doing.

no goodjob yet but did catch the thief on first try and went to the store and bought a lot of wax to put on my pitching heart glove that I got from stitch. I also received Jaw on the turn after bison showed up and got lucky going for the GR on my third try. Only problem is that it is hard to score alot of coach points as I have tried the championship game a 3 times and I pitch only to 2 or 3 batters and strike them out but end up with between 12 and 14 k with only a 4 to 6 coach (not sure why so low, probably due to me not pitching alot).

I do have a problem and want some suggestions. Is it worth doing the patty arc and trying for gyroball or sticking with Lucy for the intimitador? Also, is there a sure fire way to get them. I have read alot of posts and some of them make it seem like there is some randowm elements to them. I do not want to waste a lot of turns and end up with neithier.

I just finished my national league pitcher that started with standard plus and a toothache and no extra breaking balls and not great starting stats but turned out fairly good (will post in exchange). I was about to go to bed and I said what the heck, might as well at least start a new character. Went to make him and blam, first try, genius with 85 mph fastball, level 2 snk and level 1 sifb. I was like wow, better save till I have some time to work on him.

and GET GYRO!

is it possible that late? he might have missed out...

He's going good. I would try to get the breakers up.

Go for Intimidator

I was fooling around a bit without saving and just ran it to year 2 march to see if I can get gyro given where I am and it is possible but means I really have to focus on patty. The other thing I noticed is that I missed Lucy at the vicinage and never saw her again except for a RE with Marvin were I pretended not to know him. I guess it is down to gyro or no.

My problem is that to go for gyro I lose many, many turns and if I forget it I think the skills I would have in the long run will be better. Truth be told I never made a gyro character. How effective is it? Any opinions would be appreciated before I decide to gyro or no.

I finished many things before the first game in year 2. Patty arc - finished gyroball- stitch finished- isabella -almost finished played with kid- ghost almost finished- frank is sick and he is almost finished.

Here are the pics (notice the 105mph gyroball and level 7 sinker, level 6 origianl -slow fork)
and many abilities as well. Not sure where to go from here. Keep making him a monster pitcher or spend year 2 to make him a great hitter as well.

Making him a good hitter would be cool. i would focus on getting at least grounball pitcher first though.

I would get all the buyable pitching abilities, maybe get 2-3 lvl 7 pitches, bring the control to at least B, then work on hitting last.
