Post subject:  "The Search for Gyroball"

Since MaxD shut down the other thread, and rightfully so, I have started this one up for everyone who is trying to find the elusive Gyroball. This thread is for ideas "to try" and "to eliminate" from giving Gyroball. Hopefully, through trial and error, we can find this ability.

I have copied several ideas from the other thread that actually had pertinent data in them. I appologize to those that didn't get copied. If I missed you, just add it to this thread.

In 2007, you received it from one of the ladies that you dated, while you were on a date with them. So, in keeping with the same theme, is there any particular dates with any of the ladies in 2008 that based on a decision that you make that you could randomly receive this ability.

...Im thinkin' since the first installment gave your character the gyroball when he went into a roller coaster ride with a girl.. the 2nd installment might come from a lady as well..

Problem is, there are no roller coasters this time around.. So maybe, it's gonna come from a similar RE w/ a girl which causes your character to go around in loops.. or at least an RE that makes your character dizzy.. After all, the gyroball spins in a unique manner, so your character might learn it if he goes through some sort of "spin"

From my experience, Lucy is off the list because all her date scenarios dont have any "spin/twist/dizzy" events.. So I suspect Patty might be that girl because there are a lot of people who said they got nothing from patty in the end of the game.. MAYBE, she'll give you the gyroball somewhere halfway.. I haven't really tested every dating scene with patty simply because there's just too many.. X.x

or in the worse case scenario... Maybe we need to get a perfect score in Sitch's water spider test.. If that's the case, im gonna give up hands down..

….But i just realized something.. the gyroball COULD come from an event that we already saw.. Maybe it's just that the "skill-gained-per-event-randomizer" didn't net us a gyroball during that particular event.. but if we keep doing S/L on that event (in this case.. Luck is a major factor).. maybe we will get that gyroball..

You know what, whydon't we all help DeathJohnson (as well as everyone else) and list down story ARCs that gave us something.. and once we have an idea, let's explore those arcs that DIDN'T give us anything.. and through repetition of S/L of that arc.. maybe we'll get something and get closer to it!

It's gonna take some work but.. if we all contribute.. it shouldn't be too hard right?

…I got a wild guess here. Maybe at the Major League game if you pick to move out of the way you can get hit by it and your player says something like "It didn't look like it was moving that fast."

…I'm thinking the ML game may do the trick. 3 factors, we got 2 abilities, what if their is a 3rd one?
Maybe the Doctor?
The REs are the prophet where she can tell future, Eris Apple, and the Thief, any others?
Maybe if you get injured enough times? Another RE will trigger?

…For the MLB game it probably doesn't give gyroball. The third ability is reflexes.

Yes I agree with this "new" thread....
By the way nice research....
Now I have to start over a success mode after I finish the last month...

A few ideas I had......

Anyone tried saying no to the doctor about her story?
Maybe hitting the thief with a pitcher?
A goodjob ability improvement surgery?

What are all the Goodjob options again? I always go with "I want to be strong" (and am always turned to toast) but there are at least 3-4 other options to choose.

Yes very few people have tried the other optins for doctor goodjob. I'll try it if I ever get him again.

Dr. Goodjob would definitely be a likely answer to our problems.

But who wants to waste a turn trying to learn an ability, when you could get so much stronger instead?

Also, it would obviously be a good idea to get every ability first, so that the only thing he could possibly give you would be gyroball.

If I see him in my run through right now, I'll check and see if I could possily acquire gyroball from him, because the pitcher I'm making is basically done where I want him to be so it wouldn't hurt to try that, but that's only IF I come across the DR.

And we all know how big of an if that is. I changed it to illustrate my point

I've said no to the doctor once, you say I don't care and run away, all I got was laziness.

I said no to the doctor too. I didn't get laziness.

I saw Goodjob and said "I want to get rid of my weaknesses"
I had hot head at the time...after the surgery it was gone and I got great bunter (which stunk because I was a pitcher)

There's always the chance that it just isn't available in Success mode.

One thought of how to get it on a character with password: choose it as a starting ability in MyLife and use the item that gives you a PW for your MyLife character.

That's also possible. I did get Laziness though. What about the Tom Arc?
