just hit the a button as fast as you can, cuz im sure you can never really tell when it'll be the right timing, so hitting a as fast as you can would be the best way.
most i've gotten was like 50 or so, most i got in a row was like 9

I put my GC controller on the floor and just tap as fast as I possibly can. Works almost every time.

More info: You should keep pressing it at the same pace. If you think you are missing too many, then go a bit faster or slower.

Get 4 gamecube controllers, set them all into the same channel, and spam ^_^

No idea if this works, but this seems like the ultimate.
