That's for AL. Koufax would be in the NL team. Same with honus. Jack Chesbro also pitched in the deadball era and he wasn't good over his career as you said we were going by.

No, he was there right after the deadball erra. And there is only 1 team, there is no NL or Al team.

I wouldn't be using a good majority of your list, I and most of the other post disagree with most of what you've said. Please just skin the rest of the thread so you have a better idea. Here is what has been decided without doubt.
Catchers: Yogi Berra and Jonny Bench
First Baseman: Lou Gherig
Right Field: Babe Ruth
Center Field: Joe Dimaggio, Ty Cobb, Willie Mayes (in no particular order)
Left Field: Ted Williams
Closer: Mariano Rivera

And for Third Base (not yet offical)
A-Rod AND Mike Schmidt
I plan to have both made as this years A-Rod is underpowered.
If we were to do Pedro, we'd have to redo him also as his stats now are for him at the end of his career.

Maybe in stats. But did you ever use him? He used to have a higher average and more home-runs than Garret Backe.

He might have more home runs then Barry Bonds, let alone Garret Backe haha. He averages 30 home runs or so in my games. I find Grim Reaper averages 55 when the computer runs a season (not generated statistics but an automated my life season).

Are we making a 40 or 25 man roster?

Dennis Eckersly is the best closer of all-time. Quisenberry and Mesa in the pen too.
2B can be Hornsby and Sandberg
Griffey needs to be on the team somewhere.DH or OF it doesn't matter.
SS-Honus and Boudreau
You need a reserve fist baseman.Suggestions:
Bagwell
McCovey
and Frank Thomas

What? Eckersly over Mariano! No competition, Mariano is the best one/two-inning pitcher of all time. He has the best ERA since the deadball era and no one can compare to his post-season ERA (no one has half the post-season svaes he does). Eckerlsy should PROBABLY be the Set-Up, but one could argue that. Griffey doesn't necesarily have to be there (Mantle was probably better and he is probably in Double A), nor should Frank Thomas. Your thinking too modern. Sorry, anyone who challenges Mariano as the best closer always sets me off haha. I always go on a rant after hearing that. You know you have a stacked team when Griffey is in Double A.

Anyway I'm sorry I can't help with this. I haven't been around since the beginning of baseball so I can't judge best of all time.

Rivera should be on the team but he's not the best closer of all time.
Griffey is better than Dimmaggio.
McCovey or Bagwell can be the back-up 1B and What about my middle infield?

1st: Agree
2nd:Disagree
3rd: Honus should be there for sure, I never even heard of those other guys.

Haha its fine, pitchers are too hard so I think we should get position players done first. I liked your second base suggestions. I've heard those a lot. Second base is the only real hard decision left for the starters.
And Rivera is the best closer of all time. I will go find plenty of stats I posted before, there is no quesiton. I have never heard a single expert dispute that he isn't the best closer of all time.
You really don't know about the past mate, just the present. Griffey is a good player but not the best.

Hornsby is best 2B of all time. Sandberg, biggio, or Lajoie can battle for final spot.

Mariano exhibits every quality a closer should have. He is calm, phenomenal in the clutch, supportive of his team, optimistic, does not let anything get to him, and plays with a lot of heart. He has a fantastic 2.29 E.R.A., 477 saves, 929 ks, and had never pitched a game till he was 20. In fact, he played Short Stop in the Panama League and for some reason they needed an emergency starter. Mariano volunteered and, completely by coincidence, a Yankee scout was there and was impressed and signed him.
What is really incredible though is his postseason success. He has a by far baseball best postseason ERA of .77 with 34 saves (NO one has half that). He has the lowest ERA of closers with 150+saves , and has been third in CY Young three times (and should have won it twice as no one else was close twice). He also has the best adjusted ERA ever. This shows how good you were compared to other players playing with 100 being average. The higher your number is, the better you were against the average player. Rivera had a 198 where the second highest is 160 (Pedro). Mariano shows himself as the best pitcher of his ERA with a 198 score.
The only reason I believe he blew the series to the Red Sox was because of his family. He had come from poverty and had managed to pay and bring his whole family to America on his estate. He has an electric fence around his estate. Three family members were in a pool and a piece of the electric fence fell in the pool and killed them all. This is the one things that could affect the best, most mentally unaffectable, and kindest closer to ever play the game.
get the save because they can't bear to see his little dance.
Now I know that K-Rod is the youngest player to ever have 200 saves at 26. Think about this: Mariano became a closer at 28. Imagine who would have the most saves if he started when K-Rod did (he was 22 and Hoffman was 25)?
I'll edit this with more in a second.

That's one of the reasons I'm trying not to get involved! It's difficult though...

Lol at that part. You forgot to erase it when you copied it. Or forgot to include the rest of the sentence.
