Along with adjusting your starting lineup, the batting order and sitting dead red on something juicy down the middle until you get two strikes, here are a few more tips that help a lot:

1) If your created character is a CF, move Marvin to 2B.

2) Speaking of Marvin, he excels at slashing line drives to the opposite field. The guy is a doubles machine.

3) When you are facing s good pitcher like Sittch, the shadow of the ball starts in one place of the hitter’s box and then moves to another before the pitcher releases the ball. The pitch is almost always thrown to a location somewhere between those two spots, and more often than not, the pitch will be thrown to a very confined area around the first spot. Move the curser to that area before the ball is released and you essentially shrink your plate coverage by 80%.

4) When the batter you are facing moves his bat curser before you pitch, throw to the opposite side of the plate. For example, if the hitter moves the curser just a tad up and in, throw something at the corner down and away. If he moves the curser down and away, throw high and tight.

5) A change-up that starts high and out of the strikezone but drops in for a strike (or ball) on the inside or outside corner is the most dependable strikeout pitch in the game. Start each hitter by working the bottom corners with fastballs, sliders and curves. Go high with one of those pitches if you need to, but keeping the ball low will induce more groundballs when the hitters make contact. Change pitch type and/or location on every pitch, but don’t fall into a pattern. Once you get two strikes, throw the aforementioned high change a) to the opposite corner of the last pitch you threw, or b) if the batter moves his curser left or right, to the opposite direction of that. I have no idea why, but the AI really struggles with the high change, especiallly on the outside corner. I have never walked Sittch. The first time I played the final game I struck him out 3 times using only my garbage pitchers.

I would move Marvin to another OF position, it's risky but his speed is to great, and it will be wasted in the infield.

Marvin doesn't need a double, he just needs a base hit, then he can steal second easily. I my own stratedgy for getting on the board in the 1st:

1) Leadoff with Marvin, and get a base hit
2) Steal Second Successfully
3) (This should be the number 2 guy) bunt him to third
4) Have Terry go for the home run, if he doesn't get it atleasted he mucsled it deep for it for Marvin to score, 1-0 Golden Apples.

Except for a few holes: 1.Marvin won't always hit. 2.You don't choose to steal unless you got rid of the rookie charm which would make your hitting way worse.3. Marvin isn't a reliable base stealer, especially with Sittch throwing 96-98 regularly. 4.Bunting takes a lot of practice to work.
5. Terry has poor contact, but the last part will work great 9/10 times.

I just won the last game when my guy came up in a 10-7 game (I admittidly let a few runs score for the other team to make it more fun haha, but instead of it being 8-7 in the 7th I gave up a two-out hit to make it 10-7). It was bases loaded and 2 outs with a rookies charm. My guy hit a sky-rocketing shot that I was sure was a home run, I've never seen a ball go that far and be that high. Then it hung for a while, and fell down in the outfield right in front of the center fielder who couldn't get to it in time. It bounced a few times then hit the wall as he raced to get it. By the time he got it (and he was on the warning track) I was almost at third and he threw it to the shortstop. I knew I could get home, but I doubted the computer did. I was wrong, and I had my first inside-the-park homer of Success Mode and my first inside-the-park grandslam in either sucess mode or season mode (done it 5 times in My Life).

Wow, inside the park grand slam.

I won a very interesting game vs. Sittch just recently. I squeaked out a run in the third inning, and then followed that up with a three run HR by Terry. I was sure I was going to win... and then, in the top of the fifth, there were runners on 1st and 2nd when the batter lined a pitch to left field, and the stupid LF couldn't get there in time to catch it! It ignited a big 5-run rally. But in the 7th I was able to put 3 runs on the board to win it!

Nice, that's a good quality game. Actually, I just realized that game wasn't against Sttich haha, that was the second-last game. I was kind of confused when I tried to remember and I mixed it up the two games. The last game I gave up (purposefully) all those runs and had a rookie charm, but the second-last game I was losing 6-3 and I got the walk-off inside the park come-from-behind grandslam. Now imagine if that was pinch hit haha. I did that in season mode last year (including inside-the-park) and got more then I did for a no-hitter haha.

I also hit a solo walk off home run off Jonathan, bottom of the ninth with 2 outs. My first "real" walk off homer ever...

awesome. i was just playing my friend in a World Series of Success teams in 2007 (he hasn't gotten the chance to make any for '08), and I scored 7 runs in the final inning to beat him 12-11. I know this isn't about Success, but it was still awesome!

man on second and third. 1 out..
The closer intentionally walked Terry..
BASESLOADED... 1 out.. my guy walking up..
I was thinking.. anyway if he can hit the ball.. I would win..

You do have a second change. Off the Wii and restart. Is there a choke artist ability for fielder other than clutch 1?
