After my OP on this subject, I got the ring on my fourth try. The next 6, yes 6, surprise bags I got GR on 2-3 tries each. makes for a nice boost to your player. I also once got a GR and a discount coupon in the same bag. So I went and traded in all my rings and bought some stuff. Made the game easier and could spend points on better stuff then leveling up my basics. If only Jaw had shown up earlier.

Did you just say, you got a discount coupon and a GR out of the same bag at the same time? Are you sure you didn't get the coupon from something else, like a dog jaw job with 1 week? I am pretty sure you can't get two items from the bag at the same time.

okay, if the self-proclaimed King of S/L says something isn't true, than he's most likely right.

It's possible I didn't get it from the bag, but I don't remember any time ever getting anything else from somebody. I thought I got it from a bag with a ring, cause I remember thinking "Sweet" but I have been wrong before... Just ask my 2 ex-wives!

My current success season I s/l over 75 times to get my gamblers ring... well over 1.5 hours of time spent. Man, to make a good player it takes an insane amount of s/l, I havent been able to motivate lately to finish it, because all the s/l drains my very soul of its spirit. Its actually a shame that the game has such low %s for most events and items. I have figured it out to be about 5%-10% chance to get an RE at all between weeks, and the chances of getting a specific RE are astronomically low. Thats 10-20 s/l just to get an RE at all, so if you are looking for goodjob or Jaw or something specific...good luck.

Getting the good events and items is easily possible in this success mode, but it requires a massive amount of time and patience. I still have only made 8 players that I saved, because I only try to make complete players with all A abilities, and most of the skills. It might take quite a while to make a full team... but such is the price of the pursuit of perfection.

Sigh...

It's not that difficult to make 'good' players without any S/L, To make an all A ability monster is a different story.

LOL my guys are better then this before the first AA game... it may be a pain, but I'll stick to the slow s/l method. I am making an all-star type team with as many maxed players as I can, so patience is a virtue (which I struggle with).

My current guy is all B and C abilities now with about half of the hitting and fielding skills, and Im not even to AAA yet. I might do a detailed log for my next guy to get exact counts on how many s/l attempts it takes to get everything over the course of a success mode. My guess is the number is quite high - likely around 1000-1500 total s/l depending on how hardcore I am about getting specific REs.

Not save and loading can be fun. I once made a guy with no S/L that (my first guy actually in 08, who got corrupted and now doesn't exist  ) had 3 Trajectory, B Power, D contact, E/D Run Speed, E Arm Strength, D fielding and error Resistance, and a lot of abilities (every buyable fielder ability but durability and consistency, cannon arm, catcher abilities, and pivot ability. He had about half-2/3 of the buy able hitter abilities
