I can testify that your well waxed bat can break during Success Mode. It happened to me during one of my last games. I usually get the "V-Shot" +2 control and wax it. So, I was highly disappointed when I saw the little "Exclamation point" after my bloop hit.

It gives you, +24 power, or +24 strength points? I'm on April with my guy with almost everything to B. except power which is a mid C right now. Do I have the time to start doing that now?

So does anyone know: +24 Power, or +24 Strength Points?

I'm pretty sure it's power. However, I never got the super steak. I only tried one steak, but if you work there it gives you +2 POWER per normal work.

I started with getting +2 power, but after the first steak sample, I started getting +3 power. The last sample is what got my guy's power up to A. :D

And I've had my expensive bat break during a game. I've learned to wait until the very end of the game to buy a new bat. I don't spend a single penny of my money, then at the end after the last game, I use my discount coupon and buy all new equipment.

It won't get your stats better for the game. But if you don't want to risk it you could unequip the bat before the game.

I think it actually goes like this

Any visit to the steak house will net you +1 Power.
After you choose one of the steaks (habaniero, mega, or tropical), any visit to the steak house will net you +2 Power.
After you choose a different steak than the first, any visit to the steak house will net you +3 Power.
Finally, after you choose the last steak, any visit to the steak house will net you +4 Power.

I actually talk about this in my Success Mode character creation of Gregory Hughes which I maxed out on power (as well as most other stats and abilities) because of the +4 visits, a Goodjob event, bat waxes, and eating the super mega steak set, which I only got +14 for, so I think that part varies.

Get as many extra turns and use them as much as possible.

Do strength training, the ment points are hard to come by.

Steak house (already mentioned). Getting the RE that trigger it is worth saving on after you've gotten the Jaw RE.

Choose the bottom option when you see the purple hair girl at the park to get like +7 pitching stam. (no idea what that translates into hitting power, lucy only 1 worth dating)

Just spend all your str on power and gamble for abilitys.

Max stam or power is easy, other skills are not.

You get an increase in your running speed by 1 as a fielder when you decide to go home the first time you meet Emily Young in the park (after you and Marvin spot her).
