A mistake pitch is a pitch that is well, a mistake. It goes down the middle and it's usually slower. It is very easy to smack. The only thing that affects this is the red ability, Fat Pitch. There is no way to avoid it though. Hope I helped!

I'm a n00b with MLBPP 08 and I have a question. I pitch with the camera behind my pitcher, like this: http://thewiiremedia.revolutionreport.n ... s/1001.jpg. Everyone now and then, I select a pitch and location, but the ball goes straight down the middle instead of where I aimed it, and the catcher's eyes get HUGE. I've looked around this site, and from what I've read, I'm guessing it's a "mistake pitch". But I'm still not sure how it happened or why it happened. I can't find it in the manual (Wii version). Can anyone please explain the mistake pitch or point me to a webpage that explains it (So that I can try to avoid it)? Thanks. I love the game and I really like this site. |

Generally, these happen more often when your pitcher is tired or rattled. They're slow "fastballs", usually down the middle or in the far corners outside the strike zone. |

Fat Pitch ability makes more of your mistake pitches go down the middle. If you don't have Fat Pitch usually they will be way high and outside. |

Safe Pitch, by the way, is the good counterpart of Fat Pitch: It makes mistake pitches go high and outside. |

OMG i was mentioned in the same sentence as Wyl, i cant believe it  . Its like choosing MVP, you get guys who bat .300 and 40 Homeruns, then theres Wyl, who bats .400, 80 homeruns, 140 SB, goes 30-0, 0.00 era, and 60 saves, and 700 k's.
