Post subject:  Parker's 2014 Season Rankings!

Hi, my name is Parker and I would like to try and do a roster update for the 2014 season, much like Eric Davis 44 also does. This is my thread for pitchers and fielders. I will score pitchers like this:

TArm: Which arm they throw with.
TSpd: The top speed for the pitcher.
Ctrl: Pitcher’s control rating.
Stam: The pitcher’s stamina rating.
Type: Pitcher type (Reliever, starter, closer, etc.)
PT&RTNG: Pitch type and rating of the pitch type. So if the pitcher threw a 3-rated slider and a 4-rated curveball it would look like this: SLD/3, CVB/4.

Abbreviations are as follows:
2SF-2-seam fastball
SLD-slider
HSLD-hard slider
CUT-cutter
CVB-curveball
SC-slow curve
DC-drop curver
SLV-slurve
KCB-knuckle curve
FK-forkball
PLM-palmball
CH-changeup
CCH-circle change
VSLD-vertical slider
KNB-knuckleball
SPL-splitter
FSH-foshball
SHU-shuuto
HSHU-hard shuuto
SNK-sinker (sinking fastball)

And for batters:
POS: The fielder’s primary position.
SPOS: Any secondary positions.
BH: Batting hand
TRJ: Trajectory rating.
CON: Contact rating.
PWR+: Power rating if you want to have a slugfest.
PWR-: Power rating if you want a more realistic experience.
SPD: Run speed rating.
ARM: Arm strength rating.
FLD: Fielding rating
ERES: Error resistance rating.

I will have one post for each team. Updates are coming soon! Hopefully I’ll be able to have them done before the season starts!

Hmm...this is intriguing. I'm interested to see what you come up with, and how you come up with the abilities.

Also, welcome to the forums! If you haven't yet, take a look at the welcome thread/New Member Guide, located in my signature.

Thanks! Already working on Red Sox ratings, but I haven't gotten very far.

I've made a realistic (in my mind) Yu Darvish. You can use him if you want

That reminds me! If anyone wants to chip in by possibly sending me ratings for a couple teams that would be helpful. Maybe that way we could have them completed before the season starts like I want to. PM me telling me what teams you could do if you want to help!

Are you looking for passwords for players or attributes to edit the players in the my data section? If you're editing pre-existing players, I have some pretty realistic ratings for all 30 teams from the start of 2013 that I've been working on for a while.

I've posted a few fairly realistic Rays players if you want to use them.

I decided I need to cancel. I don't have the time right now. Sorry for anyone who wanted to contribute.

Just curious - is there anyone in the majors who throws a verticle slider or a SHU?

I don't think anyone throws a Power Pros type vertical slider, but I personally think it looks more realistic than a regular in game slider than has little to no downward break

I have no idea about a shutto

V-SLD=Derek Holland
SHU=Yu Darvish

After watching a lot of baseball since I got Power Pros, I can personally attest that the sliders actual MLB pitchers throw are more like the V-SLD type than the PP SLD type. Many pitchers throw sliders like that, and that's usually the direction they go in, up and down. One pitcher that this is especially true for is Tigers RP Al Alburquerque.

Does anyone that isn't a sidearmer throw a slider that only moves horizontally without vertical drop?
