Who would you guys consider the best hitting pitchers in the majors?

Carlos Zambrano, Mike Leake, Cole Hamels, and I think Chris Carpenter come to mind.

*This is part of my survey I guess you could say for editing players to help me out in the roster-updating process.

To add to that list: Jason Marquis, Dontrelle Willis, Yovani Gallardo, Matt Cain, Bronson Arroyo, Adam Wainwright, C.C. Sabathia, Daniel Hudson, Dan Haren, Stephen Strasburg, Livan Hernandez, Cliff Lee, and Micah Owings.

Travis Wood and Gerrit Cole come to mind for me ATM.

Wood had 3 HRs this year, and in limited time, Cole is batting .300+.

Travis Wood definitely, and Leake, Gallardo, Owings, Zambrano, and Cliff Lee are all good.

Wood's hitting .283 with 3 homers and 8 RBI, iirc.

Aaron Cook is a pretty good hitting pitcher.

 What's with your Aaron Cook obsession? He has a career average of .152

But Phillies, you pretty much already named anyone decent.

But he hit .238 in 2007. :P And .233 in 2008. He had 6 RBI's in 2009. Not bad for a pitcher if you ask me.

Zack Greinke has statistically been the best-hitting pitcher this year, so, yeah, he should be there.

Also, I don't remember Carpenter being a good-hitting pitcher at all.

Matt Cain, IMO, is the best hitting pitcher.

But he has 6 home runs and 17 extra base hits in not even a season's worth of at bats.
