Don't know if this had been discovered before, but try this
I've got my Zero, top speed 105 mph, and the usual pitching speed in the game was about 95-100mph
I got it to 105mph!! (Without having to use the best of condition)
The way to do it is to press X repeatedly with pressing R1, while the pitcher is in motion to pitch

I've tried this with the PS2 console, don't know if it works in Wii
I need someone to check it out

Nice discovery! Although, us people with Wii have to figure it out ourselves.

This is a bit of a problem, but I'll try to solve this
Since MLBPP 2008 isn't here yet in Indonesia, I'll have to wait

Oh, then I know what button to press. I do it all the time. I did it yesterday with Carlos Zambrano and he only went 6 innings, barely.

I don't think you need R1 to do that. Just tap X

I stand corrected
And once you tap the X you'll see the pitching mark spinning

Agreed. I've noticed that overusing the X button will make your pitcher's stamina drop dramatically. The result is a starter with A stamina getting in between 5-7 innings before they're exhausted.

It would still be good in the All-Star game (I don't know if you play it in Season, but still) since they only go 1-3 innings anyway.

It also effects control, moreso for guys with poor control. But even the sharpest control picthers will miss their spots if you are attacking the corners.

Agreed
All-star break makes it valuable
Because a heavy stamina like mine doesn't heal fast so, it kinda sucks having to not follow the rotation

Anybody confirm how to do that on the Wii? I use the wii remote + nunchuk. I assume tapping A? It's frustrating pitching with Chamberlain with a listed top speed of 100 mph, but in the game he hits 93 max.

ok, when you throw any pitch, spam A, you should get max speed or close to it. This only works if there is no runner on base and your pitcher doesnt have a quick wind up. Slow wind up: CC Sabatatia
