On the 2K website and GameFAQ's it says that it's releasing on tuesday

But on most of the stores websites and IGN it says monday

WHICH ONE IS RIGHT!? I don't think I can go add ANOTHER day of pain for MLB PP 08!!!!11!11!!1!!!1!

When I called gamestop they said it was released on monday, but they would have it available for purchase on tuesday. So, I would say tuesday for most places.

Gamestop and other places that sell the game have the shipping date, which is 9/28/08. The release date is the 29th, but it ships to the stores on the 28th.

Yep, it's Tuesday. I called one of my local GameStops to ask, and they said Tuesday.

Just for future reference, games are always released on Mondays and are available for purchase on Tuesday. DVDs kinda follow the same rules, though I don't remember the dates for them.

I don't get it. It releases on Monday, but don't sell until Tuesday?

It means they are shipped to stores on monday, but are sold the next day
